Hi all, hoping you can help - my ISA connundrum:
- Currently ISA is with First Direct @ crap rate
- Want monthly interest and internet access ideally
- Want an ISA that will accept transfers in
Is Intelligent Finance the best bet? I read Martin's article and went to the external comparison site in the article, seems to point to I F.
Many thanksMFW #185

Some advice please, I opened my first isa on 24th April this year with the Bradford and Bingley which paid 6.15% for this tax year but drops next April. I must admit the Kent reliance looks good although not keen on postal applications, anyway at what point would I need to send of my application and transfer documents to K.R as the interest on my Bradford and Bingley doesn't get added until the first anniversary i.e 24.4.08, many thanks
It would not matter. Assuming it's not a fixed rate ISA, your interest would be added when the account is closed and transferred.0 -
I am transfering my ING Direct cash ISA to Yorkshire BS's e-ISA:
I know the Transfers ISA must be like for like:
My question is: Is ING Direct cash ISA and Yorkshire BS's e-ISA like to like?
and also will i loose any interst whilst change over process takes place?
Which date of the month is best to start the process? my ING ISA will revert to their variable rate from 21st Spet.
Also do you think it is a good move? I am novice in this area.
Thankyou0 -
Well, my 81 yr old mother phoned the Kent Reliance the other day, and after a bit of confusion when she thought she'd got the wrong number she had a lovely chat with the man there and found them very helpful !!! So I say Kent's not so bad (and I'm an Essex girl) .... now I've just got to check that Barclays won't charge moving for moving my ISA.0

I know some people have been having problems with Nationwide. Well, I transferred to the fixed rate cash isa last month and I got my certificate today. So not too much of a delay, or maybe I was lucky.0

My Mum wants to transfer her Britannia cash ISA. In branch they told her she could do a partial transfer out, application duly sent in & almost 3 weeks later she receives a letter saying no go. This year's allowance currently unused partly as ISA value will then exceed the amount covered by FSA protection scheme, she plans to split the funds between different providers to remain covered.
Is there a provider that accepts transfers in and allows partial transfers (in multiples of 3K) out? I can't find 'partial transfers' as a search option anywhere, maybe I just have to phone them all up and ask?..........
Wish list-
Need no notice or instant access ISA to receive Britannia mini cash ISA before moving part on, preferably to 1yr fixed rate cash ISA bond, annual interest paid into ISA, (variable rate also considered)
(Presuming I'm right that the transfer doesn't count as opening an ISA if no funds paid in yet this tax year, 2nd ISA then gets this year's allowance and is technically the only ISA opened this year?)
Thanks for reading, any advice welcome!0 -
Any ideas folks
Please let me know your thoughts on the best direction to take

Anyone transferring their money out of Barclays and have problems with delays? KR submitted my form on 19 July and haven't heard back from Barclays since. Am wondering whether do they have this major backlog for transfers as well.0
-
Yes, probably they have delays due to all the former Woolwich customers trying to transfer out of their new Barclays account. When my accounts transferred, they phoned me up and invited me to have an interview with their Personal Banker about my accounts - I went in and ended up telling her more about ISAs - she knew nothing, told me a load of rubbish about my Tessa only ISA, and couldn't even tell me the current interest rates and didn't have a clue how to find out. Total waste of my time. :eek:0

Hi,
I currently have £2000 in a RBOS mini cash isa but I'm looking to transfer my money for a better rate. Ideally, I'd like a variable rate and an isa I can operate on the internet. I still have some of this year's allowance left to deposit as well.
Can anyone suggest what my best option would be and if I should wait till I have reached my allowance for the year before transferring elsewhere?
Many thanks0
