Hello all!
Following Martin's good advice (thanks),:money: I set up a Tax Beater Mini-Cash ISA one week before the 2007 tax year. I invested the full £3K and have no recieved any postal/other correspondence whatsoever in the past 3 weeks.
I advised my mum to also make use of her tax  allowance but she hasn't recieved any confirmation of her account details yet either.
I'm getting slightly concerned about the security of my money and whether Barclays can actually meet the public demand.
Anyone else experiencing the same or different response?0 -

Hi
I'm a little confused about the transfer article. Does the money you transfer from ISA to ISA count as part of your yearly £3000 allowance?
I have some new money to put into an ISA and an old isa which is now at a low interest rate. I'm not sure if I should put the new money in the Barcleys cash beater ISA and transfer the other money elsewhere (ie to another better ISA or regular savings), or if I should open an ISA which allows transfers..
Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm really confused about it all!
Cheers

No it doesn't count towards your allowance. Just make sure you transfer it and not simply close it.I have some new money to put into an ISA and an old isa which is now at a low interest rate. You can certainly put this year's allowance in one of the better paying ISAs which only accept new money. Whether Barclay's is right for you only you can decide. A lot of people are getting fed up waiting on Barclay's to actually deal with their ISA application.0 -
Cheers for the reply. I just thought I'd check as I really don't want the hassle of going over my ISA allowence. You can certainly put this year's allowance in one of the better paying ISAs which only accept new money. I've just read the thread about Barcleys. Think I might wait a few days to see if anyone receives any paperwork!
Thanks again

Has anybody moved from A+L to the Abbey Direct ISA?
I tried to fill out the transfer form online and the account number is to long. I called Abbey and they tell me to call A+L.
Anybody experienced this?
Thanks0 -
Which building societies + banks allow PARTIAL transfer-in of previous years' ISA savings? Curiously, Northern Rock have written to me, ''at this time Northern Rock are not able to process a partial transfer of an ISA.''
Even if not offered currently, which institutions have allowed this activity in the past couple of years? I aim to contact them in my search for a rate greater than the 5.55% (variable rate) currently paid by my ISA provider of many, many years' deposits. Likewise my TOISA for matured TESSA also earning 5.55% currently.
I need to retain part of the multi-year ISA with my existing provider, to maintain membership (someday I may need a mortgage!)
Thanks, if some of you folk can help me narrow down my urgent rearch. It's urgent because my ISA funds are under 60-days withdrawal notice, which expires a week hence.0 -
Hello,
I need a wee bit of IA advice.
I curently only have one ISA (2006/07) with Bradford and Bingley. I'm looking for a good ISA for this tax year but can't seem to find a good one that will accept transfers in.
The best one seems to be Barclays but they don't accept "transfers in".
My main question is that if I decide to open a Barclays ISA, it means that I will two ISA's running (i.e. one for last tax year and one for this tax year). Will I then be able to transfer both accounts to a new ISA that accepts "transfers in" for the following tax year i.e. 2008/2009?
Any help or advice on what I should do would be great :beer:0 -
Yes, you can transfer both. You are only allowed contribute new funds to one ISA per tax year. Old funds can be transferred between accounts whenever you like.0
