Just a quick update called the court yesterday and me and my husband have our date for bankruptcy its the 7th April no long now, still workng on the SOA forms.

Also is it best to open a new bank account with the co-op before my BR or does it have to be opened after the BR?

This may sound silly but i have to ask, as i am moving soom then going BR I am calling my debt management company today to tell them what i am doing, they have said they will send me my file back with all correspondance from my creditors, but do i notify all my creditors of my change of address? I think i will have to but thought i would just check. Think the debt management company will have to send a wagon with my file as i have been with them for over 2 years now and i have sent them so many letters from my creditors over this period.

Will i need a letter from the debt management company to say they have advised me on BR?

    Sorry for all the questions.

    Hi Denise,

No, you don't need to tell all your creditors your new address, they'll only start hassling you there. They will find out from the OR when you go BR.

You don't need a letter from the debt management company.

    Hello Denise,
We used the post office redirection service, then wrote to creditors informing them of the bankruptcy and change of address after going to court. If you're getting tons of phone calls, it might be an idea to change your phone number too, assuming that's not automatic with the change of address.

hi mrs thomas, i stopped paying my mort in june last year and it was only repossessed last wednesday...it takes ages! This is also despite the fact i told them i no longer wanted the house but i couldnt do vol repossession as my ex partner just disappeared and both of us needed to sign...plus i didnt want to sign anything so was happy for it just to happen in its own time!

i havent heard anything from my mort company since before xmas!

Good luck with your move on wed
