  • I found the simplest thing for me was to not think of it as a diet but a lifestyle change. That's how I stopped myself eating crisps and biscuits, but I never did go back to eating them except for random one offs. I'm still terrible for crisps, if I buy a multipack, I will eat them all. No moderation here.

Fingers crossed for the MOT today Len - think positive thoughts!
Bookie you've got a busy day there, exhausted reading it!
Im giving up.....not sure for Lent, oh how about bread, could I possibly last that long? What phone is it, I have numerous chargers here that might work.

right no point prolonging the pain, off to do a 6 mile time trial...be back later if I don't die in the process
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

  • That's a good idea - I might join Bunny on the crisps.. or rather off the crisps!

Does anyone have any good ideas how to diet without feeling like you're dieting? I am rubbish as I always feel deprived and get hungry :o Desperately want to run again but can't until docs work out what's going on with my dodgy sinuses/ constant cough

Have porridge for brekky as it fills you up and absorbs cholesterol on it's slow journey through your digestive system, makes you less likely to snack throughout the day!

    Morning all

Hope Luc's doing ok....I'm very broody. Ah well.

I sent an old phone off recently, I didn't charge it and I still got the money...might depend on the company tho.

Had a fab nights sleep - this memory foam mattress is fantastic, I'd recommend one to anyone thinking of getting a new mattress.

Tried to balance the accounts for the month....gave up when I realised it was beyond hope...will look again later when I'm in the right frame of mind.

I shall be giving up smoking for lent (not that I ever have smoked, but I promise not to do it at all.....does that count? :D )

Oh I know that one - if I do a week's shopping I eat all the 'nice' stuff in the first day or two :o

Linda - hmm I will try the porridge, I'm more of a savoury breakfast person.

Docs think that my sinus thing might be a sign of a dairy allergy/ intolerance so I guess that would mean cutting out my major downfall which is cheese.. I love cheese :(

Morning all, I'm up early to get down the cab today, decided as another positive change I am giving up alcohol for lent with the view of probably only drinking on special occasions ever again. Lent makes a good cover for anyone who I don't want to know the full story.

Many hugs and positive thoughts to Luc.

Morning! *Sooo* true about the lifestyle change, not "a diet". Allergies play havoc with me sometimes - it can seem okay for a few weeks, but then I'll get a terrible attack - late night chocolate, wheat any time, cheese any time. Squirrel - goat and ewe's milk cheese can be okay, just not cows milk cheese. They can taste a bit funny, but there's imitation-Cheddar these days. Once you get clear of the attack, you realise how bad it was making you feel, its astonishing how ill you can feel with allergies without realising it. Good luck, anyway.
