Just thinking, but what would a IFA recommend in this climate???
Dome nice commission earner fund, basic savings, bonds, shares. GOLD??
If I went along to one with 100k, what could he do for me mid term??
Stupid thread probably, but I have had a drinkies and feel a little down tonight..

Well theres no point recommending anything because it completely depends on someones timescale, risk factor etc.
For example for me, I am going equities and soon property (when I say soon I mean in about a year and half - 2 years), whereas someone else who might want to take less risks go for coroporate bond funds....0 -
I am scared of getting involved with a IFA because of a bad experience with a bank one around 12 months ago.
I am concerned he or she will know less than me from looking at these forums.0 -
I remember him trying to explain he was a IFA (Independent) but salaried at the bank working full time for them..I think the way he was going would of earned the bank a huge commission sum with what he offered...
Glad I changed my mind, I would of been about 20% down, which would of been a lot.0 -

Its what we say in my neck of the woods as taking the Pish. Independant my arris. He was a tied financial advisor.Liquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0 -
Damned if you do and damned if you dont. There is no magic crystal ball.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

"how about we all go down the the pub and get rubber-leggit, drinks are on you!"0 -

I'm no fan of tied FAs, but being down 20% over the the last year would be nothing to do with being independent or tied0
