  • How old is your car? and also, you could be dealt with by police for having numberplates that fail to conform if they were made after 2001...see here for more information.

Please note the BS information within the link.....below is the BS standard from the DVLA Website...

The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the followinginformation: - The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d) The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or componentsupplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.) The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean acompany whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.) A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification letters areoptional additions. There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number plate.l l l l l

I'll second that Halfords details are barely visible unless you look closely. You'll find it hard to get plain plates now as it has been made illegal to supply them. I think there's a website called plate my ride - they'll technically be illegal to use but if you select the correct font etc I don't imagine you'd get much if any hassle.
  • They get away with speeding so why not number plates? It's just a case of waving the warrent card and he'll be on the way.

Totally uncalled for and untrue. If you have nothing constructive to say then why say anything at all.
