    Hi Nelly
This easter is going to be my first trip to nyc and I booked return flights to newark. I am staying in midtown at The Blakely hotel I booked this as it had good reports from trip advisor. Any advice on how long and how much it will cost me to get to the hotel by taxi? and any other advice on nyc (must see, where to eat, shopping) would be appreciated.

    Also Hi Mclaren
I booked my hotel with https://www.quikbook.com I found these to have the cheapest rates.

I cant remember properly if its 60 or 45 dollars from the airport to manhatten I'm sure its 60 actually and takes roughly 45 mins depends on traffic.

Little italy is a good place to eat we went to one called Vincents.

Theres also a place behind Bryant park central manhatan (cant remember the name) you can eat outside and on a monday in this little park they show movies for free on a huge screen its quite nice we watched jaws :)

was doing a bit of digging about for myself and i seen this information from Newark in to Manhattan if its any help :)

A variety of options are available to get you to Manhattan from EWR

Located in New Jersey, Newark Airport is 16 miles from midtown Manhattan. Over 30 million passengers pass through Newark Airport annually.

Getting from EWR to Manhattan (and back):

    # Air Train: The Air Train offers connecting service to NJ Transit and PATH trains which will bring you into Manhattan. Surprisingly, this can actually be much quicker than taking a cab or bus, and it is much more affordable. $11.55 one way will bring you from Newark Airport to Penn Station. AirTrain connects the NJ Transit "Newark Airport Station" to the airport terminals. Consult the schedule to determine the schedule of connecting trains.

    # Service is available from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m.
    # Taxis: Metered fare (plus tolls) to any Manhattan location, approximately $40-55. Taxis are available outside of every terminal and there is typically a taxi stand where you will be directed to a taxi. For destinations outside of Manhattan, consult the fare guide. There is an additional charge for luggage over 24 inches if the driver handles the bags, and rates are based per car, not per passenger (up to four passengers).

    # Private Shuttles: Several companies offer shuttles to Manhattan, including:

    * Newark Liberty Airport Express : Available from 4:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m., these shuttles leave every 15-30 minutes for midtown Manhattan and every 2 hours to downtown Manhattan (from 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.). One-way fare is $13, but you can save by buying roundtrip tickets, as they are $22. One free child under 16 is included in the fare. You can choose to disembark at Grand Central, Port Authority or Penn Station, in addition to midtown hotels. The ride takes about ah hour. Return schedules and more information are available on their website.
    * Super Shuttle: Available 24 hours a day, this shuttle provides door to door service for your party. Fares are $15 - $19, depending on destination. No reservations are required to get from the airport to your destination, but they are required for your return trip to the airport. Consult their website or call 1-800-258-3826 for more information.

    # Rental Cars: Consult this list of rental car companies serving LGA if you need to rent a car. I discourage visitors to New York City from renting cars, unless they're planning extensive travel outside of the major metropolitan area. Parking is both expensive and difficult to find, and you will find your money better spent on mass transit and taxis. Driving directions to and from LGA. PDF of Major Driving Routes to LGA
