Well in my opinion you should fly into Toronto, then head for Niagara then nyc then washington. Youll have some serious photo ops there mate. You can get bus train or rent a car for the whole journey.

Toronto and Niagara but the theme park was over near Cleveland on lake Erie.
glad you liked it0 -
It's easy - and cheap with an Amtrak pass - to see Toronto, Niagara Falls and most places in the US by train. Lots of useful information can be found in the Bradt USA by Rail guide book (ISBN 1 84162 127 7) and on the website at www.usa-by-rail.com0

I went to New York for 11 days a few years ago and didnt think it was long enough. I would love to spend 2 weeks there because I didnt manage to see everything I wanted and having more time allows you to soak up the atmosphere rather than rushing around the sites in a few days. But thats just my opinion, it looks like I'm alone in it.
As for price, you could try priceline for the hotel, I went in May and stayed at the Marriott, the whole holiday cost £450 each.0 -
ok ive decided to make my own holiday as its cheaper. Ive looked about for hotels in NYC and flights. i was wondering if you could find cheaper.
Hotel: £505.00 Newark Airport (expedia) (10 nights) 2 ppl (2 sep beds)
Flights: £686.80 (virgin-atlantic.com) (LHR - JFK)
Flights: £86.28 (ryanair) Glasgow Preswick - London Stanstead. (would prefer edin - lhr )
As i said, looking for the cheapest way to go and stay in NYC, dont mind staying in New Jersey, tho would prefer NYC Manhattan.
Date of travel i was looking at 4 - 14 april tho i was using that as a template. Have looked about and the price seems to go up may - sep. any help on these would be greatful. thanks
btw i do plan 2 go on a "tour" about within the 10 days, one of which is Nigara fallsNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
New jersey is one thing newark airport is another.
Newark airport in nearly an hour away from manhattan. 30 mins in no traffic and 45 dollars each way plus tolls plus tips. there is some decent hotels closer I had a look at them ill try to find em hang on0 -
that would be wonderful if you could. Money is at a budget but NYC is a place ive alwasy wanted to go to, and as they say, you only live once and life is sooo short....
Ive found a really good flight (or i think it is anyway)
05:55 Edinburgh Turnhouse 17:10 New York City Newark Intl £714 retun for 2 ppl
I know there is a subway station at JFK is there anything like that at Newark? ( to land at JFK was half 10 at night and was £55 more)Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
Right theres loads, instead of putting Newyork in expedia put Jersey city.
Try to get one near either the lincoln tunnel or the PATH train. I have no idea how much the train is.0
