    Some great tips in this thread. Have just ordered my free 'save-a-flush' devices from Severn Trent

    Does make you think though - if these water companies were so concerned about leaks and saving water, wouldn't they send these sort of things out to all their customers automatically.....but then again that would cost them money in the end ...

    We have a 2500 litre ex oil tank which collects rainwater from the roof.

    This is connected to a pump which runs to the toilets. It works on water pressure, When you flush the toilet the pressure in the feed to the toilet drops and the pump turns on to bring the pressure up again.

    Its reduced our water bill by 1/3 (we are on a meter). It cost £370 to install.

    The best bit is that whenever we get a water bill i rush round flushing the toilets to get my money back!!!!!!!!!
