Anyone actually putting off plans to have children because of the recession? Or conversely is now actually a GOOD time to be having kids as it's more likely a parent will be at home to care for the child? Lots of Mums I knew barely made anything after paying tax and the Nursery/childminder anyway....
I have it on good authority that chucky and Dan: have put off plans to adopt children for the time being.

It's just a pity your parents (if known) never employed a bit of family planning when it came to you!

No. However, I am planning putting off having children on account of them being annoying, small, a bit fiddley and that they get in the way of my selfish existence.

The unconditional love your kids give you is the greatest feeling there is, IMO.

I take it you haven't owned a Playstation 3 then?

Mrs toast is due in a couple of months for the 1st time. I anticipate having a couple of little toasters.

Maybe you could consider the names 'Melba' or 'French' for your upcoming bundle of joy?

we had our eldest on the late 80s and to be honest it was hard then, I went back to work and most of my wages went on childcare,I had to go back cos the OH was on and off on shorttime and redundancy threat and there was no taxcredits then.

It is a troubling anomaly that the underclass are insulated from reality and can keep dropping kids like shelling peas and yet responsible hard working people have to stop, think and maybe plan.

The final outcome will be that the UK will be swamped with the offspring of the underclass and they will finally choke the life out of the UK.

Of course not all of them will be feral and useless but given their role models, there is every chance that a significant proportion will be.
