It's really good to see you getting sorted SA.

At a time of life when most people are settled and have spare cash after the kids have gone, we find ourselves having to make fundamental changes to our whole lives, including our way of thinking.

Doing so takes tremendous effort, conviction and courage. I heartily salute you for it. You will be stronger, more capable and happier for it.

Well done. Thanks for posting, it further improved an already good day.

Whatever happens though it sounds like you are on the right road to recovery. I`ll keep fingers & toes crossed that you also get the new accomodation that you want.

Keep looking ahead girl....your future is in your hands now.

Morning everyone and a huge thanks to all of you who have posted here yesterday..... you are all stars!!!

I have bitten the bullet and filled out my IPO form totally honestly in the hope of an ED. There have been 4 monthly payslips since my OR interview, 2 were the amount I had forecasted on my initial SOA and 2 were £200 and £300 more due to the car repairs (£510) in early April. From my interview I got the impression that this would be OK - to earn extra to pay for increased bills and I have written explanations but we will just have to wait and see.

I shall keep very quiet and hope that the light at the end of the tunnel gets even brighter!

In two minds whether to put in for promotion at work ... there is a vacancy for a Manager but amazingly it is less pay as it is salaried and less hours with no overtime. It would be a good move upwards for me but I am not sure I want to be on a fixed income......

    Any thoughts anyone?

SA I just wanted to thank you for your diary which I've read and gotten inspiration from. Good luck with your early discharge.

    Good Morning everyone.....

An update for you all as things are changing in Start Again's voyage! :j

For five years, I have lived in a VERY small flat as a HA tenant but the property is actually privately owned and the rent is too high as a result. It is also regarded as temporary accomodation and my neighbours tend to be "drifters" who move in, run up rent arrears, and get kicked out.....

This week I have been offered a two bedroomed flat, in a nice part of my town, owned by the HA, and it is all mine if I want it! Complete with a small garden and parking space it ticks all the boxes and I can't wait to view it this week. They are going to put in a new kitchen and replace the windows before I move in (not if, but when) and it will be a really nice project for me to get my teeth into and push the ex and my debt history even further into the background..... yippee.

The only problem is the lack of furniture. As my flat is so small I don't even have a washing machine or wardrobe. Once I have a timeline, I shall ring the OR and discuss how much I can increase my income through overtime to pay my removal costs. Who knows, with pretty major work to do on the flat I may get ED before I move....... I shall worry about that nearer the time, for now I am just happy.

Work is fine, my boss was actually asking me for some BR info yesterday for a friend of his who is considering it. The usual stuff, cost, bank account, wage freezing etc. One week seems to whizz into another. As a reward for working hard over the last few weeks I am going horse riding for three days next week. I hope the weather is good. It is pretty dismal at the moment. Flaming June ..... don't think so.

I still see my psychologist every couple of weeks and he says I am coming along really well. I am sure most of it is due to him, he gives me ways of looking at things differently and it works. To those of you struggling with depression and dark days it could be a godsend and if you get offered it, go for it.

So that is my news. My regards to you all.
    Hi to my buddies......

Oh wow what fantastic news. I am so so pleased for you. Do not worry about furniture that can be got bit by bit,the main thing is you are slowly but surely emerging from that past life into one full of promise and hope.

That has really made my day......think i am joining peppa in an emotional day now:o

SA well done on continuing to live your 'signature' name. You update today is full of so many positives and definately another uplifting post from you. Your new home can be furnished bit by bit once you're in. May I suggest that you sign up to your local freecycle, also do a search on google for 'furniture recycling scheme' in your local area. good luck and all the best in the next phase of your life.
