23/02/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move some money to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • aim for no spend day
  • Clean one room so no work to do at weekend
  • sparkle a lot HSstars.gif - purple cow socks today
Good morning lovely dfw'sjumping0044.gif Back to work again, quiet day expected here.
Hugs to any poorly people.

Hi to all the regulars:D and welcome to any new posters:j,

Catch up with you all later peeps:D
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

  • After yesterday's big decision, I've been reading through Martin's buying and selling money saving tips as my flat goes on the market this week (SHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!)
    Will also speak to a broker today;
    Stopped plans for a trip abroad at the end of April to save the £180;
Still excited about the new house and only about 10% of regrets over what I've done!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Good morning, how are you all?

Bathgatebuyer, I missed your big decision, what is it? and I hope it goes well for you, of course!

I haven't been on the thread as much as I should have recently, things are very difficult at work and it leaves me feeling quite down at times and very lethargic. I haven't stopped any of the DFW ways, if anything, it's made me tighten the budget even more. I've actually managed 20 nsd this month!

    So, today I have/will
    • made a loaf in the breadmaker
    • only had £10 for groceries this week, so only bought fresh veg and cheese everything else out the cupboard and freezer!
    • bought in breakfast and lunch
    • check online banking
    • update spreadsheet
    • pay spare council tax money to the credit card
    • pay lottery win (£10) to the credit card
    • charge phone
    • go to library
    see you all later

Morning All :hello: I wish I could say it was good to be back at work :o (I don't feel too bad, but I'd rather be on holiday ;) ) But I have my Betty Boop socks on and am sparkling :D

    Today I have/will:
    • had breakfast (saves me choccie bars from the machine so is MS :o )
    • brought in lunch - HM soup and HM cheesy bread, 2 week old banana and last of the Christmas Stollen :rotfl:
    • will get quotes for my car insurance and use Quidco etc
    • clicks and scratches (I struggled to remember my login details after 2 weeks last night :rotfl: )
    • go to the gym to use my membership
    • supper is currently defrosting in the fridge (takes longer, but reduces the running cost of the fridge :D )
Have a great day everybody :A

Mrs Audus, if you have a modern insurance co and a modern MOT certificate it is simple & straightforward to renew the road tax on line - but good luck.
  • Morning all!

    Hope we are all well?

    Today I will/have...
    • Finish putting the house back to normal after guests - nearly done
    • Have a LSD
    • Brought lunch to work but forgot drinks
    • Make tea from the wilting bits in the fridge
    • Done a mealplan for the week (we're away Sat/Sun so only 5 teas to think about)
    • Checked banks etc
    • Check Quidco
    • Look at progress of teaching application on line
    • Walk dog for free exercise
    • Put the washing away
    • Watch the soaps and 24 to recover from the hectic weekend
    • Oh, do some work!
    That's it for today.....
