Why won't my laptop connect wireless

Your very welcom, i just hope we can get it fixed for you :-))
Ok, in network sharing center, does it look like:
Your Computer
Router
Internet
My PC
Multiple Networks ----X---- Internet
with no red crosses or anything? So yes there is a red cross
If so then you have a connection, so go to (in internet explorer or control panel) Tools > Internet Options and to the Advanced tab and then, above the OK/Cancel buttons, hit the Reset button, itll restore IE to its default settings.
I have completed the above without success
If theres no connection or limited; just below the image i so skillfully made for you above, theres a Customize link, click that and set it to private and hit OK. Just done that and there was a momentary change ie in the bottom RH corner it says currently connected to Thomson Access Local and Internet & VMC (My vodaphone dongle connection the same) But I am emailing you using my VMC connection
Wait a few mins, then try to connect to the internet using IE.

No change

PS: I dont use vista, im just looking at my wifes laptop as hers connects to my network in the same way as yours will to your network.
I'm guessing that this is a tick in the right box somewhere
Had hoped it was cracked this time If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0 -
Well, were gettin closer it seems

Do you always keep your vodafone dongle plugged in? If you do remove it and try to connect.
If not, the only other thing i can think of right now is to reset the router to its default settings. This will remove the need for a WEP key and all custom settings. Drastic i know.
But leave that for now and do the following:
remove your vodafone dongle,
shut down your computer,
unplug the power for the router and leave it for a min or so,
plug the router back in and wait a few more mins for it to get itself online,
switch your computer back on and try the internet.
Also, check your PM's

That's good
Do you always keep your vodafone dongle plugged in? If you do remove it and try to connect. No, only when I get home and after trying the wireless first

hmm...if you could log into your router and send me a screenshot of the wireless settings screen/s (blocking out the key and any personal info) id have a better idea.
It maybe your router is set to allow a connection by mac address only, so you might need to allow your new wirless dongle in the router settings, which is why im asking for the screenshots to see if this is the case
Just incase, open paint (start > Accessories > Paint), open up your IE and type in 192.168.1.1, input username administrator, same for password, navigate to wireless settings and hold ALT and press Print Screen (PRNT SCRN) then CTRL + V in paint, save as .jpeg and upload it to imageshack or something.
