people go on like they can ban knives in total. get real we all use em for cooking and other things.
knife crime has always been around and always will be.0 -
Please people, read my initial post. It is not the actual Knives issue, you can be stabbed with sharp fruit or a pointystick. It's is just the hypocritical attitude that GREEDBAY are applying to this issue:-
Oh dear, we are concerned and want to stop it too, just after we rake in another LOAD of fees or until you have all forgotten about it. So we will mouth some platitudes and post a message but do not-a-lot about it. We will continue to let you sell them but we will set up a really poor reporting system in an attempt to dissuade you from telling us about it...
Try using this series of operations on a "SURVIVAL KNIFE" listing: -- REPORT THIS ITEM
- LISTING POLICY BREACHES
- PROHIBITTED (BANNED) ITEMS
- FIREARMS, WEAPONS AND KNIVES
- OTHER FIREARMS, WEAPONS AND KNIVES
- CONTINUE
- ITEM NUMBER e.g. 130289400741
- DESCRIPTION - here enter something waggish like ENORMOUS TEDDY BEAR DISMEMBERING TOOL SHOULD NOT BE ON SALE ON EBAY UNDER YOUR OWN RULES
- SEND REPORT
So clearly, as GREEDBAY have set up a reporting category, that is far as their concern stretches.
They went through all this on the sale of Guns and Parts a year or 2 ago. Anyone feel just as good about the sale of guns on GREEDBAY?
FINALLY, I must state that I am saddened by the responses to this thread, many of which seem to be of the form:-
THEY CAN GET THEM ANYWHERE
This attitude is the same as that of the Arms Dealer or Drug Seller who claims that "They just get it elsewhere, it's better that they get it from me"
(that way I can make a few quid)I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
why cant you call it ebay?

But knives are legal - so you can get them anywhere.
Mrs Advent could gut and skin me in 5 minutes with the contents of our cutlery drawer using LEGAL knives.
A steak knife is just as (if not more) lethal than the hunting knives that were sold on Ebay.
Now if Ebay were selling Guns or drugs then that would be different.0 -
Oh my god knives! I have knives in my house, heck I have one in my pocket now and I have one on me at all times, even when out in public. I am yet to see my knife jump from my pocket and attack anyone.
Until this happens I will just think of the OP as the kind of buffoon who jumps on bandwagons.0 -
Did anyone actually READ the first post other than just spot the word KNIVES?
!!!!!!! Is that the limit of your reading ability?
Yes EBAY DID SELL GUNS! They now sell knives but claim to be against them.
Perhaps if I made a 30 second music video saying
EBAY ARE HYPOCRITICAL
you MIGHT just get what I am saying here
Oh, go back to reading the Mail and the Sun, that's all that you lot can manage....
THREAD ENDED.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
and did you read the part i quoted from your own post regarding the message ebay sent you?
THREAD NOT ENDED.....0 -
I see that GreedBay (eBAY) now claim that you cannot list knives for sale
Ebay say that selling knives "will be" banned, they haven't yet specified a date when the ban will take place. At the moment, it is permissible to list and buy knives on ebay. When the ban is implemented it won't be.
There is no point in reporting the listings as selling such items is not yet against the rules.
Perhaps you should save your anger and CAPSLOCK postings until the ban is implemented.0 -
SpammyTheSpammer wrote: »I see that GreedBay (eBAY) now claim that you cannot list knives for sale on their family-friendly site, What a crock of hypocritical !!!!. A brief search for KNIFE reveals the following: -
Knives/ Swords (1285)
Militaria (200)
Hunting (535)
Camping (490)
Fishing (296)
SCUBA & Snorkelling (58)
and of course KITCHEN (and they are SO safe aren't they children) a mere 1253
Does this mean I can still put my big chopper up on ebay?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"
"i sent a letter headded sales of god act 1979"0 -
OP, do you really honestly believe the little !!!!!! brandising knives on our streets are buying them from Ebay? !!!!!!, they're probably pinching them them from their mothers kitchen drawers.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
