It would seem that Starbucks dont know what they are doing?
I tried 1 Starbucks earlier today & they said i had to pay extra for the cream on top.
I went to the Starbucks around the corner (i live in a big city) & they served it with no extra charge!
Its a great freebie this is..but the way its been publicised throughout the company itself seems to be nothing short of farcical.

There are 3 (that im aware of) Starbucks in our city centre.
I just go to 1, then onto the next 1 & then onto the next...3 free cups of coffee in the same afternoon :rotfl:

Here’s why I am in agreement wholeheartedly with your farcical comment.

I went to Starbucks today, and asked for the extra of syrup, which has sometimes been put through on the code, but other times not – being entirely dependent upon who serves you rather than dependent upon store.

I really don’t mind on paying the thirty-pence extra charge, but tonight I got a little bit extra in the mix when I explained that the policy is a tad confusing when being applied so inconsistently.

The young man sniped back and said that I abused vouchers – even in Asda. I’ve never seen this young man in my life, and it really appears to be a case of mistaken identity. This assassination/defamation of my character occurred in a very busy store.

When I asked for the chap’s name or staff number for me to lodge a formal complaint, he hid in the back of the store.

The next thing I knew was that I was escorted off the premises by the shopping centre’s Security staff.

I didn’t raise my voice or cause any kind of scene or commotion, just was adamant that I had a right to acquire either his name or some kind of identification number in order for me to complain formally. I was quite calm considering the type of treatment I was subjected to. No-one would give me their name or staff number from Starbucks nor did the Mall Security staff. This was due to my objection of my treatment, and that I would be taking it further.

All of this because I asked for syrup to be added to my coffee – which is now obviously a criminal offence!!!

I have lodged a formal complaint with Starbucks. I await their reply.

I usually spend loads in Starbucks, but I’m now reconsidering even stepping foot in any Starbucks ever again.

Defamation of character / malicious falsehood courtesy of using (not abusing) a Starbucks-issued voucher.

Tibbs I once had to complain about a Starbucks staff member. I didnt have her name but luckily at that time of the morning 8 am there was only one woman working there. Starbucks took it VERY seriously and gave me a lot of compensation and this was only for a staff member being rude to me in that she was"imitating" me in a nasty way to a colleague after I stated politely that I had been given the incorrect drink ie not what I asked for. Good luck with your complaint.

Ouch that does sound nasty. All that harrasment just for using a offer THEY provided. Makes you wonder what some members of staff are like. Surely such accusations are defamatory and libel?

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to hear that you have also been subjected to unacceptable treatment.

I really hope that Starbucks takes this very seriously indeed. I know that I am. I have never experienced such treatment in my life. Humiliated is an understatement. I really think I should go into the same store today, instead of avoiding it. I have done nothing wrong. Everybody has to fight back against such treatment (obviously in a professional manner), and not run away.

I think I'll try to do this today as a matter of principle.

It never ceases to amaze me what support you get from MSE. Thanks again.
