Just to ge back on track of the thread, I walked past Faith (ladies shoe shop) in Viccy Square today, and it is having a closing down sale.

So from Viccy Square that Zavvi, Faith and the candle/homeware shop that was downstairs (no idea what it was called) all shut/shutting down.

On a brighter note there are posters saying it is the Squares 1st anniversary next week. 3 shops gone before the year is up. Could soon be a dome full of f-all.

All the roast coffee shops in Belfast were originally owned by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

I'm not entirely sure this is correct. I remember reading that they were owned by a church group of some description, but I don't think it was PCI.

I'm happy to be proved wrong though.

That place is deffo a joke, it has the inshops (WAHHAYYY), 2 shoe shops(barretts/priceless might be gone now???), 2 pharmacies, few cheapo shops and lifestyle(is it still open??) might call down some time have a look they should really knock the place down and build a big tesco with petrol station[/quote]

Apparently Dorothy Perkins in Carrick is closing on Saturday 7th. Today they have up buy one get one free offers, I think on everything. Carrick is getting worse - there's very little there.

IIRC it got planning permission last year for it to be knocked down and rebuilt. Haven't seen anything more about it since then though.
