I'm really shocked to read about Street Life in Connswater. There is nothing left in Connswater and I have to say that recently I'm finding that Forestside is a lot busier than usual so people are maybe flocking there instead.

Really sad to hear about Edco too.
I was in Connswater a few weeks back and was shocked at how much it has gone downhill. Shops are closing and it has a really desolate feel about it. If it wasn't for Tesco nobody would go there any more.

No matter how bad Connswater gets it'll never be as run down and as sorry for itself as NorthCott is in Glengormley. Goodness me, everywhere is shut in that place bar Tesco and a few cheap shops

Can I add Roast coffee shop at the corner of Royal Avenue and Lower North Street? It closed at Christmas and never reopened. Wonder is the one on the Lisburn Road still going?

    different company i believe.

That one in royal avenue was roast and the one on lisburn road is The Original Roast Company, but not 100% sure.

All the roast coffee shops in Belfast were originally owned by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. These were split up and sold off to different people last year. The only one still owned by PCI is the one on the Lisburn Road. Even the one at the Presbyterian Chaplaincy building in Elmwood Avenue has changed hands twice since then. Was Cafe Kaya, now something else, but I can't remember the name.

That is an absolute grotty dive. That end of Belfast and Glengormley really needs a decent shopping centre.

LOL, thats exactly what I was thinking - although it is one of the few places that you can buy true granny pants (I bought some for my mum for her birthday just before Christmas, she swore at me......!)
