Was in connswater yesterday and they had signs up - up to 75% off, the staff went in yesterday morning to be told the shop was going into admin and they had lost their jobs!:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -
Has Petroleoum closed down? Walked past it today and their shutters were down. On a side note, it was very quiet in Belfast this afternoon. Those improvement works don't make it any better.0

One I will really be sorry to see go is Ed Co in Queen St the educational supplies shop. I have bought all of my children's school supplies there and many many reference books.. Really lovely staff too, such a shame.. 50% off sale and when I was in 2 weeks ago they were ready to close..0

Might be good to keep a wee up to date list of whos in adminstration or will be soon
Zavvi
Woolworths
The Pier
MFI
Symingtons (sp?) the jewellery shop
Lunns II (soon to close)
Barretts (not sure if all belfast shops closed the one on donegall place is)
Priceless shoes
OSC (soon to close)
Lunns are not in administration - just a sensible decision to close one of their three city centre shops0 -
Land of Leather beside abbeycentre, was there today and said they are closing tomorrow0

don't forget Adams baby clothing, although the only shop left that I knew of was in the Park Centre0

Shopelectric... went down the tubes...NOT because of the good staff from the NIE days, NOT because of their prices, NOT because they didn't treat their customers properly....
but simply because, they were sold off and bought by a consortium, one of whom bought his stake for a £1 then went on to staff it with his old Currys/Dixons cronies, and ran it into the ground...bad top level management...
Staff and customers alike lost out on that...but the big fat cats did really well... now there's a surprise!I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0
