Best online banking?

I am currently with Barclays and think their online banking is rubbish. Can anyone suggest a better bank with good online facilities? All I have is a current account with them which has 3 direct debits coming out of it is, so the pain of moving to another bank will be minimal.

Im with Barclays, some what think it very good - what annoys me though is that standing orders take 1-2 days to clear even though its between 2-3 of my online accounts with barclays!

I'm with smile.co.uk now after moving from barclays I find it must nicer site then the barclays bankers site. and you get good interest on savings etc.. plus an 9.9% credit card if you have a current account0

Well im not sure how good all of their rates are but Lloyds TSB has the best online banking service I have come across.
Very good online banking site and so simple to use I would recommend it to everyone.0 -
I am very happy with my Nationwide FlexAccount online banking. You can link all your nationwide accounts to it including your visa card. Viewing Visa card transactions online is especially attractive as I can see quickly if my card has been misused (thankfully it hasn't so far).0

Halifax Online is very easy and clear too. I've a current account, four online savings accounts, a cash ISA and a credit card, and you can see them all on screen together. Moving money between the current and savings is instantaneous.0

Ditto but they are a bit stingy with their interest rates.VeryTrying wrote:Halifax Online is very easy and clear too. Royal Bank of Scotland - very simple and easy to use. Their customer service is outstanding too - I'm referring to current and savings accounts and NOT credit cards. The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0

I've been with First Direct for 10+ years and have been extremely happy with their service. CS is brilliant and their site is easy to use. Some good current offers to sign up with them too.Quidco ~ £3,718 | Greasypalm ~ £354 | Freefivers ~ £45 | Pigsback ~ £260 shopping vouchers + 15 CDs
Total cashback / freebies / money-saving: 2006 ~ £3,961 | 2007 ~ 3,610 | 2008 ~ £4,159 | 2009 ~ £1,449

I used Barclays for years and have found their online banking to be ok, but have recently switched to Halifax and their online banking system is much better, in terms of being able to see all your accounts online and the general layout.
As a total package Halifax beats Lloyds because, even though its current account pays less (I don't keep much money in there anyway), if you compare esavings (Halifax 4.5%, Lloyds 4%), ISA (Halifax 5%, Lloyds 4.65), sharedealing (Halifax £11.95, Lloyds £15) , Halifax wins overall.
You can also see a demo of Halifax, Lloyds and other banks on their websites so you can judge for yourself.
Also - customer service with Halifax is excellent. If you require help by email they have always responded to me within 24 hours. With their online sharedealing service they have a real time help facility where you can message a customer service person live.0
