what do you use to clean your kitchen floor?

You can get scrubbing brushes from the market if you have one nearby.
I use a mop and bucket in the bathroom first then go over the kitchen floor with it every night as the mogs and dog are in and out all the time. Once a month it's a hand and knees job, which I quite enjoy. Masochist. It doesn't cause any staining or fading of the kicks if you go over them with a dry cloth afterwards.
I also go through the whole house with the mop and bucket to clean the skirting boards, I wring the mop out well and it hasn't damaged the walls or flooring after 8 years here.
I just use a small squirt of washing up liquid and another of bleach which works well and is far less expensive than all these 'special' floor cleaners. What do others use in their bucket?0 -
Morrisons, tesco and Asda also sell them, but you have to hunt for them. I cant go on my knees as my cartileges are shot. So I use a hard broom and scrub that way or you can invest in a deck scrubber and they only cost about a fiver. We use an old bath towel and DH follows me.Has anyone seen my last marble:A:A:A:A

Mop and bucket here with a bit of disinfectant and a quick squirt of washing-up liquid. My kitchen is quite big though. I mop through and do the bathroom at the same time just before I go to bed so it can dry then. No animals in this house so don't need to mop throughout the day. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

i am fickle. Sometimes, especially if i am scrubbing, its washing up liquid, no bleach. (i usually neglect to put gloves on:o )
I am using up stardrops, which i have decided i do not like, so sometimes that, but i am afraid i really do like flash liquid. I like the smell of it, especially the 'fancy ones' and bulk buy them in special offer....on winter days when i am mopping, and mopping, and mopping with a well wring out mop during the day and fresh water only once, then the flash doesn't start to honk in the bucket of dog foot print water. For me the general purpose flash is my go to product, a gap filled for many my stardrops. My other go to products are washing up liquid and vinegar.0 -

I have a mop and it's fine for the laminate flooring but pretty rubbish for the slate tiles in the kitchen and the tiles in the bathroon as they are all uneven i'm afraid the only way is to get down on my hands and knees with a scrubbing brush - I keep looking at a a steam mop but i dont want to waste money if its rubbish really can't decide the one i want has mixed reviews its 59.99 at the moment but if it works does everything!

Hubby is on team mop and bucket too....he does a much better job than I do of the floors,;) and as all downstairs is tiled or hardwood he has a large area to cover!!
I am wondering about a steam mop though, are they any good?0 -
Hi guys
I usually use floor wipes because I find the mop heads in the supermarket expensive. Where do you get your mop heads and how long do you keep the mop head for before replacing? Do you clean with bleach to extend the life of the mop head?0 -
I use a sponge and washing up bowl, with a scrubbing brush if necessary for both my kitchen and bathroom. Both are very small so its quicker to do it this way
A mop and bucket is great if you have the space and big enough kitchens to require them!
Almost the same, I have a tiny flat so no room to store a big mop and full size bucket but having hard floors throughout it needs washing weekly - I use a floor cloth and have the Lakeland small blue bucket (small enough to store under the kitchen sink) and get down on my knees! The cloth is very hard wearing so fairly eco friendly and can go in the washing machine if needed.0
