Bank of Ireland credit card - do they credit search experian only? I might be interested lol
Well they searched Experian on me then Equifax (plus prev addy) but then I am only on 1yr electoral roll so may be different cos harder to trace me LOLSome say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Being we went off track a little - see original post again.... any help greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Recently applied for a Bank of Ireland Gold Mastercard and received some documents that consist of a proposal (completed application form) and a credit card agreement regulated by the consumer credit act. Both filled in with my details awaiting my signature.
Does that mean i've been accepted, being i've received these forms asking me to sign them and return with I.D? I thought they only issued the agreement once you'd been accepted......
Can someone please clarify/assist especially if they have a BOI Gold mastercard....
I initially got declined and appealed, forgot about it and then these forms came through so i'm wondering if it's all been accepted after my appeal but don't want them to search me again!!!Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Yo, never-in-doubt. Thanks for sharing this. I do have to say the appeal letter is persuasive and impressive. Well done for getting the CC. If you don't mind me asking, is this based on the fact you have limited credit history?0 -

Hi mate - sorry, can you clarify? I got declined for whatever reason (they searched experian first which is empty except my vanquis and hsbc bank accounts). Then they declined saying i failed credit score, ive only been at address for 2.6 years so had to use previous which im not on electoral roll (lived there 18 months).
I think i got it cos I am sia approved which means they could visit the sia website and enter my id number and it confirms to them i'm approved and have vetted etc....Maybe cos this also proved id been with same employer for 5+ years
I assume that is the reason2010 - year of the troll

Nope.
I actually applied for Lloyds TSB Duo Miles Miles CC but was declined because my application was below the level (credit score) for them to issue me one. Duh?
I have appealed last week sending off my original 3 months bank statements (from HSBC), showing my bank credits such as salary. I mentioned in the letter I have checked with my Experian credit file with no issues (score was 999/1000)! BUT my letter was nothing like yours! It was a simple letter with 3 or 4 paragraphs! However i don't see any reason to send my Experian credit file as they would have got my Experian file data on their systems.

Yea, I agree that sending a lot of info could be risky but it can be sorted so doesnt worry me. To be honest I dont worry about ID theft and stuff like that cos it can all be sorted and so long as I know I dont owe it, i'd never pay anyway!
Lloyds TSB added a cifas for my bank account application, i'm going to argue like I did with Sygma and get it taken off then demand they reverse the decision. They won't buy hey ho - worth annoying them with the cheek of asking!
I'd have not went for one myself, unless I had excellent credit file. You use HSBC get one of their cards, you must get an instant yes if you run account well... have you got plus or advance account? I have both, one is spends and one is main.
You know amex is the hardest card to get, the duo is part of amex so you need excellent score - also you should know better that the experian score means nothing, that could be as little as 50 with a high street lender - it means zilch.
Your best bet is to get HSBC as they have a behaviour score with you and if you have run accounts well for 6 months then you get an instant yes (99% of times)2010 - year of the troll

Why Lloyds TSB put CIFAS marker on your file?
I know Experian own credit score does not mean anything as credit scoring is different from lender to lender but to get 999/1000 is excellent - as it should be because my Experian file is in good notch! Unfortunately with my Equifax credit file it is average.
HSBC, I currently have a managed loan (a long story - i have started a thread on this couple months ago) and so can not have HSBC credit card or even an o/d.0
