O2 Traffic shaping??

Hi,

I'm wondering if O2 use traffic shaping during certain times of the day?
For example would p2p downloading speeds be limited during the day? I can't find any info on this on O2's website.

Regards.

Yeah, 'DatabaseError' is right, O2 dont shape, In our house the net is used really heavily by everyone and our speeds aren't affected during peak times in the evening.

Just be aware that their BT Wholesale based Access service is not as good as the LLU services. There is no shaping on Access but there is contention which I'm led to believe is biting hard at the moment.

they don't shape, at worse you may get mild congestion at certain busier times depending on the exchange

    e.g. mild peaks like below

    No traffic shaping on LLU

their are some measures in the evening on access I believe
  • No traffic shaping on LLU

Thats good news 456 as my exchange moves over in March time

I asked this to the O2 Cust rep and he says no difference from Access non LLU and LLU.

Anyone else okay on LLU and not on the access product?

Home access use traffic shaping. It was nightmare initially, for a couple of weeks, but appears to be better now than it was without, for me anyway.

LLU has no traffic shaping, no loss of speed at peak times here. The recent DNS problems were a real pain but I switched to openDNS and its back to excellent.
