I ordered late Friday, big box arrived Wednesday, all present, correct & well packaged. I'd not ordered for a while because of all the problems but all seems fine now! Will report on the food on the other thread (although I am now wondering quite what I'll do with 10kg of reconstituted chicken pie filling)0

They ARE STILL in date though! :T
Like all sausages...........especially the tinned variety........they are made from so called 'unsavoury' bits of meat!
But still taste good!!0 -
Unfortunatly after 2 successful deliverys the third has not been quite so good. No dispatch notice, box turned up with a very apologetic DHL driver as the flimsy box was ripped open. A box of cakes was missing and the other box of cakes was all squashed and appeared to be only lemon not assorted. Also a box of orange juice had burst open and covered everything else. I have phoned the office and they will e-mail when it's sorted.0

I received my second every order today, and I am so impressed. I received everything I ordered (inc my BB cakes) and nothing was damaged or split, even the delivery driver was nice and brought the 2 big heavy boxes into my house for me...and I may be on a bit of a sugar high now lol
Thanks AP!0 -
The cupcakes are back..and the chocolate ones on their own too!!0

had my first order delivered yesterday: couldn't believe how cheap some of it was - eg sunmaid lunch pack raisins 50p for 12 - think these are 1.30ish normally? However some of the stuff wasn't much cheaper and was past its sell by, eg tubs of jelly. So I think some caution is advisible. Very well packed though, nothing squashed or broken. And I suppose only worth doing if you have a big order to spread the delivery charge over.0

Clowance Approved Foods sells goods that are often (but not always) over their BEST-BEFORE dates, not USE-BY dates. These are two completely different things, it is illegal to sell food past it's use-by date, as it could make people very ill. In fact I believe they do not sell items with use-by dates at all, although there was one exception to that a while ago, which was probably an accident.
Food over the best-before date is usually safe to eat but the quality will eventually go down the longer it is past the date. Because such food is normally thrown away, companies like Approved Food can buy it in cheaply and sell it on at often very reduced prices.
It tells you all about this on the Approved Foods home page.

My son has eaten recently, in fact within a week, a dozen of the fruit jellies and he has had no ill effects whatsoever, in fact he was quite annoyed when he realised he had eaten them all!
Of course if you have bought items from them which have a use-by date that is already past then please contact them and they will be more than happy to refund you.0
