I think this is the place where someone I know actually goes there to buy the stuff so if anyone lives near it is probably less hassle to visit rather than get deliveryThanx

Oh :j I ordered on Feb 14 - wont be long now then:j0 -
I have been reading with interest this thread over the last few nights. I have previously ordered from Approved Foods twice and have been happy with the level of service I had received. I had to wait in one instance over 2 weeks for my order, but I was satisfied with this. I find the payment and refund system equally good.
As it is half term yesterday I decided to take my children and I on a 220 mile round trip to visit Approved Foods. All I can say is that Dan is an honest, genuine and reputable businessman. He took the time to show me round the public warehouse where all the general stock is kept. He then showed me the Internet goods warehouse, where stock is kept for incoming customer orders wholly separate from the general warehouse.
Dan has been apologetic in previous post about the genuine human employee error, which has occurred in the past and he still is very apologetic even now. Dan and his team are working a 24 hour operation and fulfils on average 120 customer orders a day which all go out. In the next week or so Dan hopes to be current with all customer orders and to fully stock take the internet warehouse and fix any errors that have occurred on the website and update the new stock which does come in on a daily basis.
Dan is a genuine, honest person who works hard to improve his business (and is still working hard). It was nice to see the operation and not sit in front of a computer place an order and expect it to be delivered the next day. Going down allows you to see the face-to-face operation and the difficulties they face every day. I just want to say a big THANKS to Dan, Sally and the rest of the approved foods team, the are genuinely a nice bunch of people.
(PS I went home with a car boot full of stuff that the kids even had to sit on boxes!!!!)wins so far= galaxy bar, child of our time book, with love cd :T0 -
Several new items in today. See here for details.

(and yes I am still here - going to stay out of arguments and just post info as previous day showed not worth the effort to get involved, even if trying to break up)0 -

If you haven't done anything wrong(which you didn't)why remove perfectly proper posts?and sometimes getting involved means standing up for what is right and proper behaviour(put in a suitable manner) and pointing out what is wrong.

Hard to explain why I deleted, just got fed up with the whole thing really and wanted to read this thread without being reminded of what happened. Also getting involved WAS making the thread go off topic, and I want to avoid that, as even trying to help is still continuing the argument despite my intentions.
I would rather leave it at that, so this will be my final word on the subject.
I'll be keeping a bag of popcorn around for use while watching any future flare ups but I'm keeping my nose out of them for the sake of my sanity:D0 -
Probably best if you stay out of DT or other forums then, if you consider that to have been a flare up:D
I agree that on the other original thread comment was made which may be less than helpful(by several parties on all sides)but not on this thread as far as I could see.
I was just interested to know why you would remove innoffensive posts,as it is very unusual, posters ususally stand by their comments, especially when they are not designed to stir. Your perogative of course.:D0 -
Just put an order in using the new delivery service for heavy weights, as I think with the juices the best bargain at the moment, but with a bit of variety available on the other stuff too it is a good time to order.
We are eating AF stuff every lunchtime at the moment as it is half term. I have got a lot of soup, but we are making inroads into it and I have made a few trips to the garage to bring more stuff into the house. I must soon look at how much I am spending on food compared to pre AF- its tricky as some of the stuff I've bought I'll be using for the next few months ( if not years in the case of the 'chinese sauce' which I accidentally bought 24 packets of in my first order.:o )
I think it is making the most difference in packed lunches, or snacks for journeys etc. My dh and ds have gone to the football today with some stuff to keep them going- not soup, although if I could have persauded them to take a flask it might have been an idea. And hopefully that stops some of the emergency pizza purchases that end up costing a lot.
