My husband has just bought an ipod touch. We cant remember the password for the wireless router so that the touch will go online. How do we find it?
Its not the password on the bit of paper in the drawer! Tried that one.
Where is it? Someone must know?
Thanks.

You need to connect to the router's management interface from a browser - as described in the user manual - and the wireless "passwords" should be shown in the Security section.
Be aware that some makes won't let you see the existing password (my USR won't), so you may need to delete the existing one and set up a new one, and then update any other devices that connect wirelessly.0 -
Which router is it? and who is your ISP? if the router is supplied by your ISP they usually put the SSID and WEP/WPA key on a label on the router somewhere.
Failing that as frow says.
to get the managemant screen click start the run and type cmd in the run command box or if its vista type cmd in the search box.
on the black screen type ipconfig/all and hit enter
you will see somthing like this probably fewer devices/connections but look for the gateway address, I have circled it for you for my network yours will be similar.
Enter the gateway address in the address bar on your web browser and hit enter.
you may get the details screen but when you click the wireless security page it may ask for a username and password hopfully you will know these. if not then it will be dificult to find the details.0 -
On all the routers ive had, if you turn them upside down, theyll have an IP address on the bottom, 192.168.0.x and a username and password.
Enter the IP into a web browser, type in the login credentials and select wireless settings, the key will be somewhere on that page
Also, if the login credentials do not appear on the bottom of the router, the defaults are normally set at
username=username
password=password
Try that, you may be lucky0 -

Sorry folks, we had just got back from NY yesterday,where the said ipod touch was purchased. Hubby was all excited and wanted to surf on it as soon we got in,he was most upset at not being able to put the password in to get the wireless connection. He fiddled around, we posted on here and then jet lag kicked in and we fell asleep until about 2 hours ago. !!!!
Pathetic , I know. Anyway now we have regained a few more brain cells we will try and sort it out, I guess looking in the instruction book would be a good place to start, if we can find it. Its a philips SNB5600/00. Will try to remember to let you know how we get on. Thanks.
We are with virgin, but they didnt supply the wireless router.0 -
