After reading about the old Cheap Cola down the loo trick I thought I'd give it a try...my toilet is now seemingley stained DARK BROWN:eek: instead of the norm and looks TEN TIMES worse than before I used the coke:mad: !!!!!
Have you managed to rectify the problem?

Sadly, I have cautioned about this a number of times in past threads - cola has colourings in it and it's the colourings that have caused the staining.

Snowy - I would clean it but say nowt ;)

Well ya learn something new every day! Thanks for that piece of information Catowen, it's very useful to know.

Does anybody think it'd be rude to "unbrown" a friend's loo while I'm staying in her house? I want to just do it, but do you think I should ask first? I can't imagine she'd be annoyed. It's a loo in a spare room so maybe she won't even notice...what do you think?

Have you brought your vinegar and bicarb in your bag with you???:rotfl: :rotfl: :T :T :T :T

Definately!!! But, you could also use chicken instead of gammon :D:D:D

Glad you managed to get rid of the staining.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I never leave the cola in for long, I clean out the loo after (sometimes with bleach) and don't use it very often (maybe 2-3 times a year if the limescale is bad)) maybe this has prevented my loos from getting stained?

How are you meant to use cola to clean your loo?

I tried it but it just stained my loo.

I must have done it wrong?

    HI Elixir

I think you have to scrub it afterwards, as it's meant to remove the liescal rather than make the loo look clean. Try some soda crystals and a scrub, the limescale should be gone from the cola anyway...

It stained my loo too - I then needed commercial cleaner to get it white again. Won't be doing that again!
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
