Completion day tommorow! YAY-ness! Collecting the keys and giving my lovely estate agent (who was also rather HOT) a bottle of wine and a card. Not that her looks had anything to do with me buying the flat! :p

I got the keys around 12ish today. Ran straight there and jumped around a bit. Got some forms sorted with the management team there and then spent the rest of the afternoon in Focus spending my saved up capital bonds on paint :rotfl:

Just got back in from a day of painting. I decided to do it all neutral just to freshen it up when it's easy without furniture. This was a breeze and with a good quality paint we did the hall, lounge and smaller bedroom. We then started on the feature wall, a teal colour, this took two coats and STILL remains patchy! Back tomorrow to attack the kitchen and rest of the bedroom. Off out to celebrate the purchase tonight ...

Congrats Swissle!! We got our keys on friday at about 12ish too! Didn't have internet all weekend so only updating now... you did a lot of painting - 3 rooms!

We celebrated moving in by putting the heating on lol.

Oh, just a reminder for any other FTB - check how the gas and elec is supplied to your potential house. I knew ours were with npower but it didnt occur to us HOW. turned out the electricity is a PAYG type thing and the sellers were in debt (something like an overdraft on elec) so when we put £10 on on saturday, we only ended up with £1 credit! I don't suppose it could be too much in debit but its not very nice to then have to pay for his electricity.. The unit cost for a PAYG system is much more, so it will be rather expensive trying to run a drill, sander, electric stuff to do the house up.

Well... just need to find a nice new corner wardrobe to fit all my clothes in now. Will post pictures when it becomes less of a tip!

We had a PAYG meter in our old house when we moved in, but we just phoned up our old supplier gave them our account number and they were in 2 days later to put in a normal meter.
