  • Nah,If it took 90 minutes would have charged him £130 And not bothered about more work in pipeline (heard it all before) but agree your point-Its ok he will call agian tommorow and i'll go and do it then, and he can pay £65 plus the £17-50 he already owes LOL.
The only customers i ever do favours for are the ones who are nice to me,Mainly the Elderley,Students And Single Moms.

OH THE JOYS OF BEING SELF-EMPLOYED!! Can Travel,Will Work For Free!
  • You're right. Its always those who can afford it that cherry pick and negotiate after you've done the job for the agreed price.
  • Got a call from a landlord who owns a corner shop.

Went to a flat he owns 2-3 years ago to look at 2 sockets that were not working. I disconnected them and made safe as they were dangerous.
The client was handed (and signed) a dangerous installation notice.

Same client calls me this week to ask if I can change a consumer unit. I ask him 2 questions and ascertian that he is the same dodgy landlord.
He has re-let the house to a pensioner knowing it is dangerous (I know he had been told this by more than one company as word gets around).

I tell him (again) he needs a rewire and not to bother calling me unless he wants to proceed.

In my area the council take a dim view of rogue landlords, but I am duty bound not to say as there is a client confidentially issue.

You get rogue customers as well as rogue traders
    baldly going on...

Its about time they had one of these programmes that feature cowboy customers in stead of tradesman

one thing that gets me is when they are chasing you to start a job, you get there soon [ie mess about and rearange other work] finish the job then you are chasing payment for months on end, you cant go to tesco and pay 6 weeks later so why should it be any different with me .

the joys of the domestic scene fortunatly i dont do much on the domestic front nowadays.
