ASDA sneaky selling techniques...

If they haven't got any bags then they should give the bags for life away free, I would have stayed at the till and asked for the manager.0

Exactly, where do the cardboard boxes go now? According to the adverts sold for recycling. Why not pile them up and let customers use them.
Ah because it would reduce income.
We can't give out carrier bags, but we can give you increasingly large amounts of plastic wrapping.
My local ASDA has just put a new stand in behind the tills that they put empty cardboard boxes in for customers to use. It has a big sign behind it about using a box a reducing bag use.0 -
The next time someone at the till at asda tells me they have no free bags I'll just walk out and leave all my shopping on the conveyor.
I said to the lady today that I'd forgotten to bring my re-usable bags, and she said " You wouldn't forget if you had to pay for them would you" Very sarcastic.
I explained we've at least 50 at home but as we're having our new carpet fitted all the ornaments, vidoes, dvd's and cd's are packed in them, but ofcourse she didn't believe a word.
Totally spoils the 'shopping experience' at Asda, not that it's that nice there anyway.
All the money they've made out of us and they won't give us a bag to take it home.....

the tills aren't exactly far away from eachother, if it was me i would (and have done in the past) just gone to another till, grabbed a handful of bags and used them if they had them.
:rolleyes:Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
I wish I'd thought of that, I might do it next time.
What would you do?
1. Grab bags from next till, or
2. Walk off laffing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I always carry heavy duty carrier bags in the boot of my car. If I use them I fold them back up and set my keys on them to remind me to put them back in the boot. Take trolley to car, put stuff in carrier bags, simple!
I always thought carrier bags were supplied as a convenience not a 'right'.Why do I always find men so hard?0 -
Yes they are but after all these years, you kind of come to rely on them being there.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

You pay for them in your shopping so if you forget your bags they should supply them.
Lets not get taken in by the green arguement, the supermarkets just want to save money by not supplying bags.0 -
our store has 2 carrier recycle bins at in their foyer, so I tend to grab some on the way in, for when I forget, - (you usually get a strange collection of bags, but its only to get stuff to the car) Every so often I then empty my cupboard and put them back in the reycle carrier box0

I wouldn't put my food in these bags they could have been used for anything........0
