  • I agree with gunjack... i never really minded her much and she's never claimed to be anything other than herself unlike for example jordan (who i actually quite like perversely enough!)
i think she is just creating a secure future for her kids, which is to be admired...

Although I'm not a great fan of her, I feel so sorry for her and her family, no one should have to go through this so young....but if it were me, I think I'd devote my final months to my close family, making happy memories for them and talking to my children...each to their own though and I wish her and her family well through this horrific time.

well while i feel sorry for her and her family at this time ...i feel more sorry for those people that are going through the same thing but dont have the same oppertunities to secure their families future ...i also think it is sick that individuals seem to find this macabre event fascinating ...i havnt read any of the details as i have no interest in modern day celebrities however so i understand i am in no real position to comment...it does lead me to also think what example are we giving to the younger generation by glorifying in this celbrity culture? and why does society behave the way they do when young people in society behave the way they do? disrespect for life permeates throughout society and becomes acted upon

oops did i say that out loud
  • ooo so many things to answer and I can'tdo mutliple quotes.

    1. Jinks,I don't know my intial thoughts were yes you should do what ever you can to see your oh- but i have to be honest, I thought that was you saying you'd come and see him and him being akward:o and my inner sexist is very harsh on men and thinks they should drop every thing immmediately if not sooner! Now its you and its organising kids and work well its bloody hard to do at short notice and I agree with what Maz said. *breathes*

    2. Jade goody, well it must be terrifiying. utterly terrifiying so I say let her do as she chooses. only 27. and her two boys. and it happens to hundreds if not thousands of people every day. I guess she is dealing with the only way she knows how.

    3. am going to investigate this thirty day shred business. have been walking between 5-3 Kms a week for the last couple of weeks and intend to keep going!

    4. How come I had breakfast (cereal, banana, yoghurt) and I am SO hungry!!!!

I shall drink some water to see if thats it.

    xxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Not quite sure what you are saying, elantan? Did that drift in to a comment on today's young people being disrespectful? Although I appreciate your comment, you know as well as I do that it's not all young people, unfortunately, the good ones never make the news now do they? *sigh* ruddy media.

this is totally true black ruby ...i work with young people and i get fed up of seeing them being persecuted and blamed for things ...last week while i was working i saw a man attack a youth totally unprovocked(sp) (i watched the whole thing) and yet nothing seemed to get done about it...and then i get fed up with money only being spent on the kids that miss behave or living in "rough areas" ...alot of people living in "nice areas" cant afford luxuries for their kids ...they have to go without as well ...the parents are just trying to give their kids the best chance that they can and get penalised for it ..i am on a rant today ignore me lol ...

but in referance to jade goody ...i feel that we a re living in a type of society that seems to enjoy tabloid stuff if it isnt her its kerry whats her name or jordan or that footballer guy and his wife (ok atleast he can play football give h im that much)or someone else ...what realisticly have these people done? have they discovered a way to cure something have they made a scientific breakthrough a social breakthrough (well i spose that one can be argued for ...) no they have good publicists ...and yet society as a whole (and i know individuals are different) seems to buy into this...maybe my views are just skewed but i cant help thinking about the poor individuals that are suffering in the same way as jade goody ..the people that have worked 60 plus hours a week to try and get the best life for their family and went without ...but because they dont know these publicists etc they will die (the same horrible death ..it is tragic please know i do think this) worrying about what will happen to thier loved ones ...i feel more for them is basically what i am saying

Bunny chicken and veg curry is the easiest thing to cook. cook chicken then add onion and other veg give it a stir. then add in 2 tablespoons of medium curry powder and 1 of garam masala or just 3 of curry stir it so all the chicken and veg get covered. Then add in tinned toms and chicken stock. Leave to simmer for an hour and voila low low fat curry :)

You left out the rabbit... :rotfl:

Morning all - can't get going this morning, been at doctor's first thing (more antibiotics, great  ) so late into work and just can't be *rsed!

Jinky, you should drop what you feel you can drop (ahem).. not much you can do if you've got kids that need looked after. As long as he knows it's a reason and not an excuse.

As for Jade Goody, I have mixed feelings on it all too, I can understand why she wants to publicise the illness and do her best for her kids but part of me thinks that she just doesn't know any different than a life in the public eye - guess I agree with Buffy when she says that's the only way she knows how to deal with it.

  • Can any one point me in the right direction for the Debt Management Plan board/thread, it is referred to quite often but i just can't find it. ( I have been looking for nearly 2 hours now!!

    Thank you
  • Hey, Elatan, someone actually attacked a kid for no reason? Geez, that's bad. I know what you mean about the money spent on rough areas/nice areas is skewed. If I had the answer on how to deal with truants and gangs, I'd tell the government.

I don't get the obsession with celebs either, really don't. You know all those mags you get in shops and supermarkets, give me the ones with real people stories (like take a break) rather than the ones all about the stars.
