Hi All,
My vet has been selling me this product to use on Bailey my CKCS and its costing me £7.50 a pop. Is this reasonable? Or does anyone know if I can get it cheaper elsewhere?

I think (But may be wrong) that Advocate is a prescription only medication, so even if you found it cheaper online, you'd need the prescription to actually buy it. AFAIK, Vets charge for prescriptions but idk how much, so it seems like it'd possibly be cheaper for you to just get it from the Vets.
I've had a look online but the one for Small Breed Dogs below 4kg is more than £7.50, so I really dunno, sorry!0 -
Have you tried your local RSPCA branch? Many of them are now offering flea treatment and other medicines with no presciption charge? I am not sure how wide a range they do but it must be worth at least asking? We get our flea and worming treatments from them.0

my vet is giving out advocate to anyone who has cat or dog boosters for free,3 months supply.I was really pleased, never seem to get many freebies!0

Sherleys cream for worms.......cheap as chips and easy to give.
No medication for fleas because they are not responding at the moment. So combing and bathing only.
To be honest, the combing is better than the flea stuff anyway.0 -
you're getting it cheaper than I am. I'm paying 8.99!
I don't know if this is the right thing to do, but I am only putting it on my cats every 3 months or so. I've been doing that for a year with no flea/worm problems.
The vet says do it once a month though.1 -

Does that really work?!! If so why is everyone using Drontal or something similar?
I don't think my furbabies would tolerate bathing for fleas - I would be very interested to to hear how sucessful that is really.:rolleyes:0 -
Sorry but I really wouldnt advise on Shirleys or Bob Martins.
They dont treat all worms
They need to be given more often
Not money saving at all
Drontal - less then £2 a tablet - every six months - hardly going to break the bank0 -
The cheap stuff from the pet shop or Supermarket like Bob Martins are rubbish and so are the flea collars. You are best getting Frontline and Drontal to ensure proper cover.0

Hi,
My CKCS needs advocate and I bought it at petcaremart.co.uk
I got 6 months worth for a medium dog and if you enter the code PCM20off at checkout it came to £26.86 inc delivery. This equals £4.47 a time.
Hope this helps

Do they not ask for a prescription? I have just checked and gone through the check out and there is no mention that they need me to upload one0
