    Morning all.

Silly question but can someone describe to me what a contraction feels like?

Not that I think that they have started yet...loads of pains last night and this morning which feel worse and different to anything I have felt before...

It just suddenly hit me that I don't even know what I am looking for!

    MFD xxx

    Morning All

Labour vibes to you MFD... I don't know if this is too late, but my contractions last time were just like very strong period pains which never quite went away but just had peaks and troughs of mild/strong pain iykwim. I have found BH to be mainly on the full part of my tum, whereas labour pains were very low down.

hi Mel, even if MFD can't benefit from it, cos she's busy labouring, I know I am finding the contractions discussion reallly helpful! I'm a wee bit close to the top of the list now! :D

I feel like I have got the morning sickness nausea back again...for the second day now, I have woken up feeling like I am going to throw up, but managed not too, and just keep feeling queasy at various points throughout the day. I can't be bothered faffing about going to the doctors, just wondered if anyone else has had this at the end of a pregnancy before?? I didn't have it with the other two, or not that I can remember anyway.

I have had two very, very vivid dreams of giving birth to baby. Last nights one I ended up having a CS booked because had gone for midwife check and baby had gone breech. The one the night before I had a very calm home-birth. Exactly how I imagine it is going to be actually!!

    You are, aren't you:D

I can't believe I have only 8 days to go!!! To be honest I can't wait for this pregnancy to be over. I have definitely not enjoyed it as much as the last two....although I must admit I am slightly nervous about the birth (because I know what is coming):o

In that case I had an achey lower back on the friday night starting about tea time that I put down to general pregnancy aches n pains.
Then woke up at 6am for a wee and the hillarious trickle story.
Then 'hopped' in the bath to wash hair, while in there I got very sharp-had to stop what I was doing pains that felt like they were coming from inside my foof they lasted about 10mins and then stopped no more pain for about 2hrs, the MW said the pains were most likely my cervix turning as it normally points backwards but straightens up for labour.
Then when contractions started they were like cramps, waves of crushing muscles.
Mine were manageable but painful from the start, which I think is not the norm but then 4hr active labour isn't the norm for 1st timers either ;):D

I was thinking about birth this morning and looking forward to it

right of to get ready to go to Chris's appointment - I hopefully will come back to MFD news :T

oh PS. the snow is/has come back!! http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090304/tuk-north-suffers-with-more-snow-dba1618.html
