  • Morning all.

Silly question but can someone describe to me what a contraction feels like?

Not that I think that they have started yet...loads of pains last night and this morning which feel worse and different to anything I have felt before...

It just suddenly hit me that I don't even know what I am looking for!

  • My labours have always started off with a mild stomach ache that would not go away and gradually gets worse. It gets to the point where sitting down feels uncomfortable and moving about makes you feel a bit better.
  • I am still debating about a double buggy as DS2 will not walk anywhere. However I am considering using a sling to begin with in the hope that DS2 may decide he wants to walk. He will be 2 and a half when the baby comes along so there is very possibility we wont use a double buggy for long.
  • sls - check! Had the strongest BH last night (which kind of got me started on the contractions question but I knew they were coming too quickly to be anything other than BH)

Then went to niggly period type pains. Now have v bad period type pains...managed to sleep some but woke hubby this morning by saying in my sleep - 'I have been wanting the pains to come but I don't want them to be this bad' :rotfl:

Just about to get into the bath. Got MW at 12 noon so will still go there unless it gets much worse (better than going to the hospital to be sent home because I am not far enough along).

I NEED TONS OF LABOUR VIBES PLEASE LADIES.

    Have you had braxton hicks?
My contractions were like that but really painful, but for you they might just be a little bit more painful at first, or uncomfortable even.
My labour was so spontanious, I didnt have anhy pain etc before, i just had a show in the morning, waters broke at 8pm then contractions started at 9pm.
    sorry thats not really helpful.

  • MFD - does sound like it is the early stages of labour. With DS2 I felt like that for a whole day and night and at 4 in the morning decided just wasnt getting any better and I hadnt had any sleep. Had a bath - still didnt feel any better so rang the hospital who advised to come in - got there at 4.30am, and had him at 10.30am.

I did however almost get sent back home but the hospital decided I would hit rush hour traffic so kept me in as they werent busy anyway. That was at about 6.30. if it does get any worse do ring the hospital/midwife foe advise wont you?

    HUGE LABOUR VIBES!!
