    SB - I'm 25.

It was one of those late night moments where I was trying to think of names so went through my old school mates and realised I wouldn't have used them now. Hope I don't offend anyone but they just sound common now (probably coz everyone has them!!!).

That's the problem when names are associated with songs, films or really annoying people. Alfie makes me think of Alfie Moon (Shane Richie in Eastenders) a proper cheeky chappy.

That makes me think of Spencer as a name - maybe not don't want SS as initials. Believe this was discussed a couple of nights ago!!

Erm... I just realised that I haven't taken folic acid between weeks 7 and 10 (as we were having a termination on first consultants advice) then we got second opinion and I took it for about a week then forgot.... and now I'm feeling very guilty and worried. I have a disabled child allready and anough guilt about how I didn't stop that from happenening. It will be ok though won't it? I mean it's not like I live off chocolate and fags. Think I'm just in a mood to worry right now.

Feelie, those outfits are delish! Where are they from please? Window shopping will help my guilt.

I wonder if it's possible that I can feel baby move... I'm 13/2??

Don't warrington do the nuchal scan then?? I know they do private 4D scans out of hours so would have thought they could do them

and £150 isn't a bargain :money::p the place I'm going is in St Helens so closer (if u go up the lancs you'd drive past it to get to l'pool) and £10 cheaper. Its run by 3 sonographers one of which is also a qualified MW, another is an "expert in complex cases" do u want the web address? xx

Spire Cheshire (BUPA) wanted £220  for the NT. What is the name of the St Helens one? I couldn't see one that did NT scans just the 3D/4D. Oh yeah - web address would be fabulous darling thank you :rotfl:

tia - what about a private Nuchal scan? Although don't know if this would detect Spina Bifida which is what you need the FA for. Think it might just be Down's. You can have a NT scan between 11 weeks and 13+6 so might be possible if you are quick. I am waiting to have dating scan first to check my dates and then if they are what I think, I will book NT scan.

Do you eat lots of cereal and greens? Believe these have their own FA in so you may be OK, think a bowl of cereal has quite a bit of FA in.

I didn't take folic acid for the first 12 weeks, or before I concieved. I didn't know I was pregnant. It was asked at my booking in appointment, and at my first scan, but hasn't been mentioned since. Scans have all seemed fine. Fingers crossed for both of us. Also, I think some cereals, spreads and other foods are fortified with folic acid, and there is a small amount in green leafy veg, oranges and peas. Hopefully it'll be alright. I'm sure it will be.

The Stripey outfits are from 'Brights and Stipes' but are last years range, but a few shops sell them.

Greens yes, cereal not so much (hate milk). I do eat a lot of brown bread, rye crackers and the like.

See mw tommorrow so will speak to her about it. I'm sure it will be fine. I didnt even realise I was pregnant with DS1 till I was 10 weeks and he is fine.

Will have a look at nuchal fold scans.
  • Thanks for all the crossed fingers. No blood at the moment and had no stomach pains so I'm more hopeful now. Am going to bed now hoping all will still be well in the morning.

Tia - I really wouldn't worry too much. There are so many people who don't realise they are pg until much later on and they don't take it.

My grandad used to have orange juice on his cereal when he got fed up of milk!

Sami - no problem me dear. Thanks anyway, guess my £150 was a bargain after all!! Baby Premier is £160 and like I said Spire was £220 - although she did ask me what was the cheapest I'd found and then said she'd phone me back but didn't. Liverpool not that far really and I want OH to get a peek as well as get some reassurance.
