Preventing snacking between Breakfast & Lunchtime

I have an enormous bowl of Mr T's crunchy oat and coconut cereal.
In the olden days, I always used to have a less filling cereal and a piece of toast with butter and Marmite but tis surprising to see how much butter that can be.
That usually keeps me going until lunch 7.30 to 12.30 but I always take a piece of fruit for 'pudding' which sometimes turns into a mid-morning snack.
If I was at a desk, in full view, however, I would probably take a little tub of nuts as they are not as sticky as fruit. Or maybe little pieces of carrot.0 -
I agree, over 5 hours is a very long time to go without eating, I can't go longer than 3 or 4 hours - and thats with porridge for breakfast!
Take some seeds& nuts or chopped carrot/celery and munch on those. It is better for you to eat more often - keeps your blood sugar level and keeps your metabolism up.0 -
porridge, made with skimmed milk. weigh it out the night before and put in the fridge. I often cook a peeled and chopped apple with it too as it really bulks it out, or have a banana on it.
bananas are great for snacking if you need anything mid morning.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Porridge made with some dried mango thrown into the pot as it cooks (it rehydrates beautifully) and with a chopped banana and milk on top...
Then... I make a couple of slices of toast from my homemade wholemeal loaf (really crunnchy), cool them off, spread with butter and marmite, wrap them up in foil and...
...Around 10.30 I have "second sitting breakfast" at work.
This really works for me because if I would feel like a beached whale if I ate more than the porridge and fruit at 07:30 yet can't make it to lunchtime without the toast mid morning. (And Paul Mckenna has messed with my head and forbids me to either stuff myself or go hungry).Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0 -
I will have a carrot or 2 inbetween breakfast and lunch.
