Ways to keep calm

  • Was a bit hesitate to put this tip in, because I'm not married or even in a relationship right now, but I have been living with the same people for 1 to 2 years now so I think I can say something about keeping a happy home.

    Tip

No one is a psychic, if you have a problem, you have to tell them. It's no good letting it build up and bubble over to do with something insignificant. I always say when I am not happy with something, and it usually works out to the best.

You're so right Ruby, a fiend ofmine moaned about her OH and l said when he's in a calm mood tell him what annoys you people dont know what they've done unless you tell them.
Also lm a great believer in being thankful for the things you have, not the things you have'nt.
And just one more thing, as l have debts and dread the mail, l also had news that my mortgage had suddenly dropped by loads as the fixed rate had come to an end so it went right down, so when l get a debt letter l keep the mortgage one at hand and read it again because its something nice!
  • Brilliant one there, Nova, my mum's told me she is going to put my graduation picture as her desktop, so she can look at it to cheer herself up when she misses me. Now that made me feel really good. I know for a fact it kills her that I've chosen to live so far away but I really appreciate that she's gone on and let me do it.

  • Good morning, stress-free people!

Todays Tip: Don't wish your life away, it's good to look forward to things but if you are constantly thinking 'I wish it was July so I can have my camping holiday' then you aren't going to really enjoy February, March, April, May and June, are you?

Little bonus tip: I always try and think of one thing that's made me happy at the end of each day, to be honest, I can usually think of several. But on bad days when everything has gone wrong, I can still usually find one.

That's all from me for now, talk to you later.

Stay calm and get on with your life.

  • Think it's time for this to get resurrected. ;)
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

    Thanks, Merlin!

To be fair I've neglected this thread coz I felt like a cheat coz I walked out of my job on the 22nd of Feb. It didn't really feel inkeeping with my stay calm philosphy.

But now I've had a couple of weeks, I think I know how to turn it into part of it.

Today's Tip: If something is making you so unhappy that it's going to destroy you, walk away.
I.e: I hated my job, it made me physically ill and mentally miserable, so I knew I had another job around the corner and I could survive till then, so I left.

Take that advice with a pinch of salt, I had comfort in knowing I had another job, maybe instead of walking away, you could had in your notice and use the notice period to look for other jobs.

Of course, this advice also applies to relationships as well as jobs.

Stay calm and get on with your life.

    Hello all,

Today's tip: It's hardly original this one, but I find it useful. If you need to cry, then cry. It realises so many endorphins and stress and nearly everyone feels better after a good cry.

If you are having trouble setting yourself off, then I find sad songs or movies help.

    Shortie today.

Stay calm and get on with your life.
