I hope this is the right forum...
You can get a 4 pack of Princes chopped toms at netto for 99p from Thursday 19th Feb.
Some other good deals too (incl grapes 99p a kg)...
The newsletter: clicky
Nice one Babs2008
Not at all bad for 25p.A better quality one is in Morrisons at the moment.
The Cirio are 50p each and the Napolina are £1.94 for 4 tins.Far better quality.0 -
Got very excited (yes, I know I have a sad, sad life) , but as the nearest store is Kidderminster & 90 miles away I must carry on spending 33p a can on basic/value/aldi/lidl toms locally.... price fixing, what price fixing? :rolleyes:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

I noticed this in Sainsburys the other day and thought I was imagining it. Didn't their value range tomatoes cost 19p until very recently?0 -

Can someone please tell what makes the tomattoes above much better than the Princes ones?
I would expect them to be better than the value tins but I thought Princes was a top brand name.GONE ENGLAND0 -
If it's quality you're after, you shouldn't be buying tinned chopped tomatoes at all, you should be buying tinned whole tomatoes, and taking the 20 seconds to chop them yourself
It's well known that tinned chopped tomatoes get filled with all of the left over crap. (and also have a higher water/pulp ratio)0 -
i disagree with
'It's well known that tinned chopped tomatoes get filled with all of the left over crap. It's well known that tinned chopped tomatoes get filled with all of the left over crap.'
I buy chopped tomms all the time. and i find that as long as i buy a decent brand (Not shops OWN or Budget) they are just as good as whole tomms.0 -
At the moment my Tesco is doing a case of 12 tins of chopped tomatoes for 2.49.0
