Very low upload speed any ideas?

            yep, it does
I guess you'll be pulling the bell (ring) wire, then....consider it a free i-plate and hopefully should fix your problem...and give you 40% faster internet...for nowt!
instructions here...basically the wire connected to pin 3, but the words and pictures are gonna help.
Once you've pulled the wire, but the socket back together and plug in the router as normal, check that you still have the improved sync, if you have, phone aol and get interleaving turned off to get max sync (I will be jealous ). ).
You're fixed! Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

Thanks, [STRIKE]but I don't have the faceplate they show in the article. I think mine is a NTE5 ADSL faceplate. I have looked at images of this and it looks like mine.[/STRIKE] EDIT: Actually my face plate looks exactly like this, but I have none of the wires connecting it to the socket if you see what I mean. Would the wires be connected somewhere else behind the next plate?
Am I looking at a router problem?

Not sure why I thought you had 4.5Mbs sync...but I was certainly wrong (as others have pointed out)
The bell wire is never a bad thing to pull, if it's connected, and asking your ISP to put you on fastpath (interleaving off) should improve ping, sync and gaming performance.
Sorry (MrsBartolozzi) for my initial mistake...I'll have to get my eyes tested
edit...as I typed that...you suggested you have a filtered faceplate...if someone could just pass a spade I'll dig a little deeper (ignore bellwire) Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 (ignore bellwire) Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

Where is your router normally plugged in? Master socket or an extension socket? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Router is always plugged in to the master socket. We actually only have one socket and no extensions (damn previous owners, but we have a 2nd digital phone plugged into bedroom so it's tolerable.)

Mrs B. you are not looking at a router problem, it is probably, as Mr B Scott suggests, " if you are connected to someone who is .. downloading ...uses AOL then you will lag" then you will lag"
If son #1 or 2 uses any peer2peer software, he needs to endure his upload speed is lower, maybe restricted to 15kbs or so, getting fastpath turned on will also help, as will, probably, changing ISPs to one that doesn't charge buttons Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

You are unlikely to improve your sync speeds but if you have a cordless phone pugged in for the second phone in the bedroom, you could temporarily unplug it to see if it causing you problems. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

There is no phone plugged in in the bed room, and when I did the second test I unplugged the other phone from the filter too. Could the phone be the cause of poor bandwidth?

I'm then. How does the second phone work then? "we have a 2nd digital phone plugged into bedroom so it's tolerable" Is this not a cordless/wireless phone, that could be interfering? then. When you obtained the second stats, did you actually do any speed tests? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
