pinkladymel wrote: »Hello everyone,
I am really sorry if I made anybody worried, I didn't mean to. I haven't opened this thread since I last posted because I just couldn't face it right now. The past few weeks have been like hell and i'm so emotionally exhausted.
Something horrible has happened in my family but I don't want to talk about it really and i'm just slowly letting it sink in and go away. My new work went up on Scrapbook Apprentice and my best friend told me that this was the worst work she had ever seen me do and my 'stuff' is usually much nicer. I know I shouldn't go on the SmackBlog but curiosity gets me everytime and each time I check they're saying how rubbish my work is, how I don't deserve any votes. The house move was a heartbreaking let-down and my house is just covered in boxes and chaos.
I decided to let it all go and take us to Thomas Land.. As soon as we got there Logan decided to be in a mood and wouldn't enjoy anything and was very rude. Emily is going through a naughty stage that I remember Logan going through last year, she has decided she will just wee in her trousers now instead of on the toilet. I spent a whole day moving her bedroom around so she could have this Dream Cottage finally built in there that she had for Christmas. She went in there and wee'd and I am not kidding it was as if someone had a hose in there. All the wooden furniture and everything was soaked. I don't know if they're going to be any good now because i'm OC and scrubbed the life out of everything.
A lot more has happened but those were just the highlights of my fortnight.
I am having serious thoughts about quitting the internet completely and getting on with my life. I am human and I do need validation. I make my art for my family or for the recipient and I put everything I have got into it but I still like people to say it is nice rather than how awful it is. At the same time, I don't want to be lied to.. so if my work is really this bad then I should stop posting it and making a fool of myself.
Every month I start and tell myself to think positive and be positive. I don't let myself think negative thoughts about people. I don't let anything worry me. My life instantly becomes happier and I feel good. Then slowly one by one the things just start rolling in and covering me.
If I didn't have the internet I could save a lot of heartache right there.
Geesh talk about offloading and venting. I'm sorry everyone
Today is a lovely sunny day and it is the weekend. Don't sympathise or pity me.. just tell me why your life is so great today and fill me in on how you are and funny stories from your past if you have any x I just want to be happy x

Hey girlies, wondered if you could give me some tips on getting rid of smell from old jars? ive been trying to reuse old pickle and sauce jars but cant get rid of the smell properly even after soaking them overnight. what can you girls suggest for me to do? thanks so much.
Ok, this is what I do - fill up your sink with hot water, half a bottle of thick bleach - mix it up, leave your jars soaking overnight (your kitchen will probably stink in the morning though :-) ), then wash in soapy water as you normally would to get them clean, sit on top of the radiator when you have the heating on and should be ok. Never store jars with their lids on - I have this tried and tested. No matter how much you wash the jars, if they are stored with the lids on, the smell seems to stay. Oh, and do the same with your jar lids as you would do with your jars.
(before I come to use the jars and the lids... being stored separately - for hygiene purposes - I put them through the dishwasher again, and when preserving - I then also put them in the hot oven to sterilise them).
Faster way to do this and without the bleach smell, wash your jars and the lids as you normally would in soapy water, use spray bleach (I use flash spray bleach) - i.e. spray all over the inside - the jars and the lids, leave in the dishwasher and once your dishwasher is full with other pots and so, put it on and when the dishwasher is done, put them on top the the hot radiator.
HTH.

To Melanie Pink Lady:what is this all about??
People with too much time on their hands and a vindictive mind are saying these things about you. They are narrow minded and not worth bothering about ! Yes , I know if they wrote it about me I would be devastated too.
Kids: I have 3 darlings. Grumpy son: at friends this afternoon, he acted like a greedy pig there. Consuming food and with a grudged and prompted 'Thanks'. Really want to shake him ! Had more manners at 3 than he does at almost 14.
Seriusly Untidy Daughter is just as she says on her tin......seriously untidy, every day is a little battle to ask her to tidy her room, have a safe floor, make her bed. I am not particularly house proud and not a naturally tidy person myself but I live in a nice house and want to try and keep it nice. I don't think it is too much to ask for her to keep on top of things in her room.
DD2, has just finished with a weeks grounding. I heard her swear for the 1st time last Saturday. Said the 'f' word whilst telling tales on someone who had sworn as they walked by. She didn't mean to say it but I went ballistic with her. We do not swear at home and she is the first of 3 kids that I have heard swear. I was horrified. She was devastated. Grounded for a week , no TV and in bed by 7.30pm.
I have a huge bruise on my shin....it's a beauty and looks like I really did something to it!!.....my sporting injury!
I think we all have days on here when we think I've got nothing much to say or tell, but I feel that just by saying hello we're letting each other know we are here......it's also (supposed) to be nearly summer and we don't tend to be doing Christmassy stuff which is primarily why the thread was started, and maybe people don't think they have much to say on that matter at the moment.
we all have our real lives away from the computer and sometimes we get caught up with that , that this seems silly and pointless but I think we are a nice wee community of virtual friends who have got to 'know' each other through day to day chit chat about silly things.....not that I'm saying my bruise is silly!!
Keep smiling, keep being craft daft and tell the others where to go...will send dd2 round to sort them out with the threat of tidying dd1's room and grumpy's company......that'll teach ''em to be unkind.0 -
Who is that wise woman who has just posted..........sounds like someone in their 40s0

Mel- I know you love disney - I know you so well now - I am so hoping I pick your name out of the hat for the advent swap at christmas cos I feel like I know you so well I have loads of ideas as to what I would do!!!!!!!!!!! BUT I will be happy with whoever I pick because I love everybody xxxxxxxxxxx
I haven't posted on here as much as usual - but part of that is due to my twilight affair and being engrossed and almost finishing off all 4 books... I'm sure the posting more will change when christmas draws nearer.
Libby bought timone off lion king (which my husband went in a strop about cos he wanted her to pick something better!!!!!!!!) and a little remote control marie from aristocats that walks and meeows and is so cute - only 10 pounds which is pretty cheap for disney and she is loving it -she had money left so we went crackers in accessorize on hairbands and clips and bracelets for her - I love it in there but again it's so expensive but it was her savings off mil mostly so it felt good. She hasn't stopped playing with marie since she got in.
Mel - my hubby is getting a new tat for christmas - he's getting jack on his arm - he's thinking about one he's seen where jack is hugging a jack daniels bottle!! and the baby's name will have to be added about the same time - he already has daughters name - and her date of birth in roman numerals on his fore arms. He has always loved jack so I think it will look great.
plm -I HAVE missed you lots on here but I know you have a LOT going on right now so xxx0 -
Thats the last time I vent off a load of embarrassing stupid rubbish on here asking for no replies, come back to delete it and see a million messages that just make my heart burst xx Thank you everyone, you have all made me feel really good, I thought I just couldn't be fixed but already I feel like there is sunshine. I should have just come on here and caught up with my friends really instead of burying my head in the sand. Note to Self: Get rid of mental ostrich.
That is a metaphor BTW.. I don't literally have a lunatic ostrich that I need to get rid of
Oh also PMSL (not literally) At me saying Emily had started to wet her trousers and then all of you who mentioned it said 'pee in her pants'. It just always reminds me of something being really funny and you say 'peen in my pants' I didn't see anything funny though so she hasn't got that excuse!
Scattymam Are you trying to beat Rainmac for the most amount of messages to my pseudonyms in one post :rotfl:I love it!! I have had a brilliant time today at Disney.. it's all your fault.. it's tough spending money but someone has got to do it
Lee had a tattoo on his chest where his heart is (Aw) of him as his wrestling character proetecting Logan as a baby wolverine and a scroll underneath that has his name and date of birth. He is going to have Emily as Hawkgirl on the other side and then me and him in the middle. I saw a full sleeve NBC tattoo and really fancied having one but ahh I dunno.. LoL Let me see your husbands tattoo ASAP LOL I am excited :j
I'm glad your baby got some awesome bargains today.. Marie is what Emily would have chosen too
Mhagster You really REALLY make me laugh all the time about your 40's OMG you crack me up. I am thinking one day it is going to finally hit you and you're going to throw yourself into the sea or something :rotfl: Your kids all sound brilliant to me, I bet your friend laughed at him for being like he is. I never think this thread is silly or pointless or anything. Thank you for your words, they did and always do make me smile. Craft Daft, I love it :T
I think I am a sad loser, seriously.. I ENJOY reading about everyones day!! 1p croissants, pigging out at chinese buffets and all that jazz!! Since I have been here amongst friends I have learnt that I am not the odd one out, there is nothing wrong with me.. everyone has guilt, low days, untidy days, naughty days and that I can be me and breathe again. It's just sometimes a few people like to impose on that and i'm stupid and sensitive!
Aurora My burst of sunshine, thank you xx I loved your pictures and hugs xx I hope you are ok and having a nice day.. I haven't been on your blog for ages which is naughty. Sowwy xx Hope you have been updating and not deleting because I love to look when I have got time to concentrate and enjoy it. :A
Marg Im waiting on those good times you know and when they come I'll be spouting about them on hereI love the word Sympity, I might have to add that to my made-up vocab which consists of words like 'prolly'.
I'm a bit disturbed that you are making up people and setting tables on fire.. are you alright :rotfl:I love it!! Thank you for all of the advice, I think that it could be because the half term was over and then we had some teacher training days so her routine has been disrupted and she gets a little anxious going to nursery without me (although when I take her she runs off and ignores me!) Thank you xx
Orchid Thank you so much, I am so sorry I missed your birthday. I hope you had a lovely day.. what did you do and more importantly.. what did you get :jI wish I was having curry tonight.. ahh damnit I might order a chinese... It's saturday!! I think twins are just sooo cute, I would love to see a pic of them!! That makes me sound like a nutter now doesn't it? I can just imagine their cheeky faces giggling whilst they run around knocking everything off and falling over things. That made me really smile
Mary You are brilliant, love the chocolate rabbitDo you remember that once when I went out to find rubber gloves in winter so you could make your friend some cobweb sweepers? I didn't find any in the end but I think a whole friend was searching about for you because they had to be pink or purple or womanly LOL Still love that genius idea!
Rainmac Thanks a lot for what you said, I really appreciate it you know. We will have to meet again you know because it is criminal that I only got to see you so briefly in a crowded arena before. When I got to the ticket office the man asked how old Logan was, I didn't know under 4's go free and stupidly said he was 4... that cost me 21 pounds! I didn't mind because it's Thomas Land and he is Thomas mad but then he was over tired and miserable all day. At one point he wouldn't get off a ride and lashed out at his dad. Putting your kid in a naughty corner at Thomas Land is just sad!! We don't get to go anywhere very often with Lee being disabled so when we do I get so many hopes up and then suddenly my good boy is a devil on this exact day... kids:rolleyes: Did you ever post pics of the farm day out? You said you was going to but I don't know if you remembered after. Sorry I wrote an essay there
Rusty Haven't looked on ebay because I actually bought the dirty 15 pounds one from The DisneyStore. I love her so much and I just couldn't let her be sad anymore. Your girl really made me laugh and so did you.. no wonder she is so funny :rotfl:I am so glad you have had loads of nice things to play with. I hope you make some beautiful things soon to show me. How is your stamping coming on? I am so proud of you for getting your nappy cake business going and finding a stockist. This could be your year you know. I don't know what all this pain free stuff is about, I have missed out on loads of conversation but I hope you're alright. Don't be put off by a bad doctor. Keep going until you get a good one. You don't have to be in pain. Thank you for always supporting me when I am down and being a true friend xx

Still need gardening gloves for cobweb sweeper -pretty ones and cheap............lol Couldn't do them last christmas but determined this year I will, dammit I will..............talking of dammit............made a 'dammit doll' and had hideous idea of putting a pigtail on top of its head................lol
It's now in a bag out of the way for a fresh look another day (crikey almost a poem there............lol) Went on to cutting up fleecy/woolly hat to make a 'mug cosy'...............OH looks on bemused then leaves the room................lol
I'm off to join him on the sofa to try and convince him I haven't totally lost the plot............lol:rotfl:Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
