my beautiful spotty friend went to sleep at 1215pm in my arms. It was very peaceful and the vet who came to the house was so lovely and understanding she even stroked my arm and reassured me we were doing the right thing. It was so sad and my dad and brother were inconsolable but I was so glad that I held her in my arms and cuddled her till the end. I caught my little one this morning standing in the bay window with a telescope when I asked him what he was doing he said " looking for the spotty cloud that Abbie is going to" aww bless he's only 3, it really made me cry xx
I really wish I didn't have to go to work tonight I could do with a night at home - OH wants me to phone in sick as he and the children are poorly, Jake has just been sent home from school ill too
Sorry if I can't reply to everyone but my brain is very foggy
Phone in sick, days like today are what 'sick' days are made for. I am sorry for your lovely little spotty friend but take comfort knowing that she will be in a better place now in doggy heaven and not in any pain. Take care Shelley xxx

Well I lost a coupla people from my list this year as one is no longer together with my friend, so she no longer gets gifts as we don't see her (tough situation to be in but think he'd kill me if I gave her a b'day present, he isn't impressed that we occasionally text, but we don't want to take sides, anyway I digress!). Another one because we just stopped speaking last year (didn't fall out, but it was either massive argument (it was brewing) or just stop speaking so we both took the silent route out) so she's another one lost off the list. I can't face looking at the birthdays later on in the year with regards to the family, as I fear I may lose another off my list before then
but you never know the :Aangels might look after him *fingers and all other body parts crossed*
Anyway - got all the friend birthdays & Christmas sorted. None of the families or the people I ask.
Up to now:
MONEY NEUTRAL POT: £125.88SPENT: £152.09
therefore need to find £26.21 to be money neutral
SAVED: £249.70 :T
The gifts I have given include Wii games, Glenfiddich, Next vouchers, DVD player, DVDs, CDs, Chanel perfume and premium brand smellies, all of which can still be done on a budget. Thrifty gifty doesn't mean cheap and nasty it means smart and savvy

**ADVENT SWAP ENQUIRY**
I didn't get chance to ask, but wondered what people thought about the advent swap budget. This works out at around 60p a day to spend. Obviously you can be thrifty and make things then carry the 60p to another day.
Did people think this was too much, too little or just right?:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Jammy If you think that birthdays and christmas are a nightmare you wait until you start on your wedding guest lists! They are a complete guilt trip waiting to happen. I am sending all the love and good wishes to you that i can and hope that you are feeling positive and happy on Rudolph day. xx:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0

Thanks Mel, I couldn't find that one on amazon but appears I was searching on the wrong thing. I have saved the link as I am waiting for £15 worth of amazon vouchers from Just the answer survey site they should be here in next 2-3 weeks hopefully which makes the scooter just under £15and will still be money neutral!! I can't believe how good I am getting. All of the presents I have given and things I have bought for myself and even the big shop we did not long ago has all been money neutral!! Thankyou ladies, without you I don't know what I would have done.
Shelley, you have done the right thing, she had a fantastic long life and she is now no longer in pain. keep your chin up gal xx
Mel I love the idea of the advent swap, not sure I can commit to it at the minute but hopefully when the time comes I will be able to. I think for it to work and us not be dissapointed then we need to have some kind of list of likes and dislikes etc?
The bargains I got in wilkos are still priced the same, apparently they will drop in the next 2 weeks!
However if you look around the gardening section there are bargains to be had, lots of half price items and 75% off and also BOGOFS on the 75% off items. I have just got loads of things, and paid £10.81 from my money neutral pot and on the reciept it says it should have been £30.02  so saved almost £20! woohooanother pressy to strike off and used another wilkos voucher

I will feel no guilt on the wedding list, because if people don't understand then they obviously don't care about my feelings or understand the ££ situation at all. Although, I fear the bridesmaid list. 11 have enquired to which I have politely changed the conversation. My cousins will want to kill me for not having them, but I don't care, it's my day *selfishly*ETA: errr..and Mr Jamtart's day too I suppose

Ah dear.. well.. I thought I didn't mind who I hurt as long as it was our perfect day but I am so soft hearted I totally messed it up!! I kept feeling sad for people alone and asking them to invite a friend. I didn't invite half of my family because my mom doesn't speak to them and I didn't want to cause a row. Ahh dear. I feel bad for you choosing bridesmaids but it realllyyy made me laugh :rotfl::xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -

Sounds great, hopefully I will be in a better position to join in when Oct comes
I think the Rule is a brilliant one. Will it just be for thrifty/gifty members? i.e on this thread?
Yes, I will be quite picky about the members of the swap to avoid any heartaches and hopefully it will be a safe and close-knit thing between us thrifty gifty girls x:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
