Hi Rusty - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The budget is not a lot if tis something I buy in a shop but I am able to get Amazon vouchers so have been able touse those online for a some more expensive items.

So far I have some bits from the year he was born - number 1 single, magazine from the week, dvd and book of the fa cup for that year (2 items), the dandy annual for 1979, a set of coins of the realm 1979, his scrapbook/photo album, box set of royale family (amazon) box set of steptoe and son (amazon), two lynx sprays and two lynx shower gels.

Will get some socks and pants and may be shirt, hes not really into silly presents, so rules out a lot of things as he just wouldnt see the point lol. The items I have bought so far already add up to £100 inc £45 in amazon vouchers. I have another £5 voucher and if i carry on with the bingo will probs have some more in a few weeks so might be able to get another box set dvd or something.

Really thought this would be easy when I started out but didnt even think about how much it was all going to cost.

I said in another post that we have a new "the range" shop opening soon but dont know when. I have until August to get everything so not a real rush but glad I started early.

Thanks Rainmac, I have done all the whats happened on the years thing already, his book I have made is a 30 page 12 x 12 scrapbook and I have made a page per year and put photos of him and his family (what I can get as I dont have any contact with his Mum or Dad, just had to use what ever he has brought back for me to see and scan) and my family for the same year plus photos of things that happened those years and small bits of writing etc like songs and films out at the time.

Hes not into star signs lol the sweets would have been a good idea but my daughter bought him a bag of haribo for xmas as he said he used to love themand they are still unopened in the cupboard

Think this is going to be a bit of a pain lol
  • Good morning ladies, it’s another beautiful sunny day in London.

(((HUGS))) to all who need them.

I haven’t posted much this week as been feeling rather down due to losing my job and my friends funeral yesterday. Hope to get my “mojo” back next week.

  • Rusty - i'm so sorry about the tough time you are going through. If you ever need to talk pm me and i will give you my phone number, and you can call whenever you need a chat :D ((HUGGEE HUGS))

Rang the doctors today and they have made me an appointment for wednesday 25th to talk about it. I am not impressed, i have to see Dr Misery again:mad:
Dogs are doing my head in today, they just keep being SOO naughty  So far i have tidied up an uprooted indoor plant, plucked several various items from their mouths including my knickers for the wash that they have rooted out of the washing basket, they managed to get half of the clothes out in the process. I have a trail of sweetie wrappers that they have salvaged from the bin leading to their hidey hole:rotfl: And i have to navigate my way around lots of chews, which if anyone has stood on one at 3am will know it's not the most pleasant thing in the world.(I thought i had been stabbed in the foot, well it was dark and i shouted and cursed a fair bit :D- Jammy you're not the only one who isn't dramatic) I do love them though:D :heart2:

Love and hugs to everyone and anyone

    Afternoon All :hello:
I am LOVING this weather! Its so nice to be out in it. Really is spring tomorrow! (or was the 1st March depending who you go by, the gov & historians, or the Met office)
Was only going to pop up town to get milk & bread, but ended up going upto Mothercare to get my brother a baby hand print kit, its cheaper elsewhere but he wanted to ensure the quality. His baby is finally coming out of hospital today after almost 7 weeks as she was so early (due mid April). He's been rushing round trying to get everything sorted that he hasnt had chance to buy his partner a mothers day pressie, so me being a nice lil sis offer to go get some sort of keepsake as its her first.

(((Rusty))) This site can do backgrounds, colours etc for you, & allow you to add multiple pics. Might not be as good as what your OH does for you, but it could be a good 2 fingers up, look-I-can-cope-without-you-so-watch-out to him.

Cant you ask to see a different Dr Jordan? If need be tell them you didnt feel comfortable seeing her, & tell them why.

Don't you just hate it when they change the chocs in the tins, its like roses removing the strawberry & coffee flavours, they never put many in in the first place & they're my favs
You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground
  • Ahhh no, won't bother as it's too much faffing around, i spent two hours trying to get through today!! My docs are so weird the wont make any appointments (for that day) unless you call at 8.30 or 12.30 ?!?!?!? lol
Ooooh i love the strawberry roses :D when Woolies was still here, i used to nick them from the pick n mix when i was a kid, lol. Oops maybe shouldn't have admitted that on here but ah well :D

Forgot to say Scatty, your poem is gorgeous :D
