Pigpen why do you need a smoke alarm in a room with a high sleeper? I'm curious as Ds1 has one.
Smoke rises, and smoke kills quicker than fire. If the fire started upstairs (say a candle in a bedroom or bathroom) and the smoke alarms are downstairs by teh kitchen, then the person sleeping in the high sleeper is in lots of danger, to be blunt, could be dead before anyone else even realises there is a fire. Don't want to be melodramatic, but getting a fire alarm upstairs, and in the room with a high sleeper is very important. The person in the high sleeper needs to wake up very quickly and get down to the floor if there is smoke in their room."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

thanks for the help everyone.
Well DH has gone out.
Problem is that we hadn't got around to doing tax credit as we were only entitled to about £50 for the year or something like that.
DoI fill it in with effect from now or should I take into account DH previous earnings?January Grocery 11/3740 -

I'd get some advice and quickly re CAB. Don't forget to ask your DH in what manner he plans to support his children, will it be via a standing order private arrangement or the CSA.
A standing order takes a while to set up btw.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Morning all - slept in until 9.15 today as ended up sleeping with DD2 last night as she had tummy ache and wouldn't settle - too much popcorn methinks - we watched Mamma Mia twice while I was ironing and the little minx emptied the pack pretty much by herself!:rotfl:
Didn't get back to the PC last night as I was determined to beat the ironing mountain and knew I'd get distracted.
Yesterdays list now looks like this.............
Twinkly Tuesday - Master bedroom & Landing

Childrens list for tomorrow! Could you pick up all the stuff on the floor in the bathroom and put it away? Can you also make sure all the things are picked up in your room? And if you are really super, which I know you all are, can you help mummy (and daddy!!) make the living room and hallway look beautiful! - Girls want to go to the cinema later so have a vested interest in helping - might get them to attack the Playroom though....................
Big hugs to mumofjusttwo - there is a lot of great advice from people on here and some who have been in the same position - don't be afraid to ask for help and arm yourself with as much information as you can when you see a Solicitor/CAB. I have been in a similar position although not with children and I just buried my head in the sand...............not to be recommended. (don't know why this is bold - can't turn it off)
Better get on -
Oh just remembered.............Toots - I think I have one of those keys for the gas box - will try and look it out and could pop in the post. I think someone else may have offered to do this already - happy to send it to anyone that needs one.

MOJT
fill it in for the situation you are in right now...ie as soon as he goes then it is based on the situation you are in. They won't take maintainance or anything just earnings. You should also check you are on the right tax code - it all helps. Told yu about council tax. Once you get your Working Families Tax Credit sorted you may automatically qualify for free prescriptions (I do) which means free dental/glasses if you have them. If your income is under about £15 500 then you can claim for free school meals too. You can claim for help towards childcare too.
You can get your Child Benefit paid weekly too - I did that on line - really easy (Direct Gov) Basically claim for it all...hugs XXXX
Re Silence
I am very proud I got to the end - and as they were in the ambulance it occurred to me EXACTLY who the patient was :rotfl: DS scornfully told me 'it's not scary' TBH I think it's been on when I have been too tired before ... but I always got as far as the same bit... so just a bit in the middle to watch...(and I knew he was going to shove that girl in that van...)
Now must finish thread and find a listypoo

ETA: Valli that's interesting, I may qualify for free school meals, and here I am paying £9 a week - it's worth looking in to, I've also got a housing benefit form half done cause I'm paying full rent too and may not have to. Thanks.0
