((((hugs)))) for mojt. I can't help, but I know there are others here who have been through similar situations and can provide plenty of advice based on experience. We're all here if you need to talk. ETA - I'd take Penny up on her offer if I were you, then you'll know what information you need to get together and what questions to ask.

soappie - I find giving myself a good talking to about the fact that I don't have time to be ill helps! GnB's idea about steaming is a great one. And if you have any menthol crystals, chuck them in. If that doesn't clear your head, nothing will! I also find hot soup of some kind made with chillies helps, as does yogi tea (or ordinary tea without milk). Hope you feel better soon.

Didn't get up in time to go to the gym, but DID manage to wake up on time and read to stay awake. Got up at 7 (so only an hour late  ), and have a load of washing on and had breakfast. If I can make it out of the house by 9 with the laundry drying and no more mess in the house than there was last night I'll be happy!

I have managed to mislay my lunchbag since Friday though... think it must still be in the car  I really hope I didn't take any yogurt to work :o

Since we've got back onto the bath debate... I see baths as a leisure activity (clean water, bubbles or oil, book, wine or chocolate if I'm feeling indulgent!). If I want to get clean its a shower or wash. Mind you, when I was at my first boarding school, we had baths on alternate nights in about 3 inches of water (with the doors open  ), and strip washes at rows of basings on the landings morning and evening. In the senior school we could have showers, but only ONCE A WEEK. The rest of the week was strip washes and the occasional bath in scary spidery bathrooms. And hairwashing was weekly on Saturdays over basins, even for those who clearly needed it more often due to puberty/games (and no, we didn't get to shower after games... straight back into the classroom after hockey  )

Suppose I'd better go and get dressed...
  • ok, morning everyone. Kitchen bits done but then got distracted by Martin's email and then reading posts here.

mumofjust2 - so sorry hope you get it sorted. My sister was on her own for a while with children and got lots of financial help so fingers crossed for you
pigpen - great news re cc. You have done so well on this. And i loved the picture of your little ones covered in dirt!! makes me feel better!!

What is this wasting water thread need to visit it!!

sexymouse - Teaching is an incredibly stressful job and the pressure of the NQT year must be awful. (didn't have that when i qualified but it was stressful enough) I hope something comes up soon.

smoke alarms - think fire service fit them for free - please phone them!
Right my plans scuppered as i have to go to town to get my sis a pressier and my mum wants to go this morning! Have dentist at lunchtime but no other plans - gonna be a good day!

take care all, see you later

mojt sorry to hear that, hope you're ok? I get WTC but can't for the life of me remember if they take savings into consideration but I know they don't take maintenance payments.. x

First job this morning has been cancelled due to her hubbys illness so I've a spare 2 hrs or so, OH has his MOT today so I'm picking him up at 9 ish then hopefully I can get some list done, didn't do nowt yesterday, tho I did admire my new cutlery for an hour or two and made everyone else admire it too lol

So, playing catch-up which sounds worse than it is cause I could blink and have the master bedroom done and the living room is nowt too really, the front door however will take some doing - good idea putting it on the list.....cause it never occurrs to me even though all my grannies have me doing theirs every week lmao :T
