  • ok does anyone have any bright suggestions how to get into my gas cupboard to read my meter outside - I have mislaid the key thing - I know you can go and buy them but thats not OS and its 2 buses and a walk for me which i was trying to avoid - I have received an estimated bill and I need to check it!
    toots xx

I've got one of those and have used needle nose plyers before now (they go either side and let you turn them, but ask your gas company and they will send you one usually... OR....

Borrow one... and read your meter more frequently!!! At least once a month is sensible (your supplier won't mind you submitting regular readings, it helps them predict consumption better)

Don't forget everyone, if you're a BG customer, tomorrow is meter reading day to make sure that the next bill doesn't estimate too much on the old tariff ;)

Thanks for the reminder Greenbee - can't remember what tarif I'm on at the mo - fixed I think, so will have to check it out... :o Should we change yet?

OH and I had a "chat" about him leaving his dirty and clean clothes on the floor instead of putting them in the correct places, and eventually it ended up in me telling him that he doesn't appreciate everything I do and me bursting into tears. He then said I'm too sensitive and cry if he just says hello to him some mornings (untrue), which made things worse! I told him that I may be feeling sensitive because I've had a rubbish day (he knows all the things that have upset me) and because AF was here so he should be more understanding. I told him that the house may not be perfect (there are still lots of big jobs that need doing that we just can't afford), but at least I try to keep it clean, and he's stopping me from doing that properly. Anyway, I think he's got the message, so fingers crossed we don't have to have any more chats.

My EX had two good points, Be quite and say nothing when AF visited (particularly if I was peeling the veg, or otherwise had a sharpe implement in my hand) He eventually got the hint re clothes on the floor after the 3hundreth conversation I had with him explaining very sweetly that there really WASN'T a laundry fairy, it was his MUM:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

toots you could borrow one, or a pair of pliers I used to open mine with! Oh and I hope you are feeling better soon.
kaz mine is definately at least part tiredness! I do have a bit of a cold so that's maybe not helping
soappie well done for going to the dentist, I've been self medicating (ABs I didn't take) to try to not have to go to mine :o
greenbee thanks but BG have 'cacked up' my switch over to them so it's not being done until March now...**grumps**
toochoosey we were thinking about Bolt too, DS2 being dog mad!

Well like I said to Kazm must have been part tiredness, sent the boys to bed and zonked out 8-10pm....I could have stayed there quite happily but dog came over licking me wanting to be out for a tiddle and needed to do DPs tea....would have got cold later too laid on the sofa. Anyway hoping I can still sleep when I go to bed. I think I will as I still feel stuffy and cack.

DPs burpday tomorrow, well now actually, so planning cinema/lunch out but the new baskets I got today should help with the LR tidying, box for OU books aswell which are at present in opened cardboard packages around the floor which isn't very organised.

Right, bed time me thinks, will rewash those towels I found in the TD tomorrow, night all xxx
One day I might be more organised...........

Flower - email me about the gas/elec thing... but do your meter reading and submit it anyway. Once you've dug out all your info then drop me a note and I'll [strike]see what I can work out for you [/strike]ask you lots more questions ;)

Have completely failed to go to bed early.... BUT... the house is tidier than it has been for ages, and I've cleaned my teeth properly for a change, and am pretty much organised for tomorrow.

Sleep well everyone (good luck with that Valli :rotfl: :rotfl: )

lil_me - why didn't you tell me you were having problems with your switch. Let me know if there are any further issues...

I'm ashamed (Yeah - right!) to admit that in a bored moment at the weekend I snuck into that thread and fanned the flames a little - mainly it must be said to grab the chance to tell them what a bunch of *searches for suitable word that will get through the filters OK* they were being.....! :rotfl: Honestly - it's been running on and on for days and they just keep bickering away about the same old arguments! I do like a spot of fishing at the weekend, especially when the little fishies are QUITE so keen to bite! ;) h dear, I'll go to a bad place!

Will return in a minute when I've found my list from yesterday....
personally I though you and Tia were among the more balanced posters...
how did it turn into a 'you waste water' thread
I was tempted to point out that those with bedwetters might find it necessary to wash (ie bath/shower) them before they were sent to school ...no mention made of why some kids NEED to be bathed daily...
and my teenies don't need telling and smell sweet....bathed every day ... habit developed...too scared to post LOL
