mumofjusttwo, it's not unusual not to spot them for a while, pigpens right about the 9 days. I keep the boys hair short so it's easier to search, I do find a leave in teatree conditioner really helped when they were at the last school. 'No more WASTING' thing we seem to have a plan of confessing what we buy (only buy what we need) and confessing what we waste.

Speaking of spending, went to Asda, stuck to my list apart from some reduced yumyums and a stonking huge bloomer for 5p, I got everything but veg/fruit we need for this week I hope. Nothing wasted today.

I've got somewhere with my list before I went out to the track with DP, I will find it in a mo to cross off. I cleared the top of the ottoman in my room so I could get to it and use it (sat empty, but piled high on the top with clothes :o) managed to find my swimming stuff as I start hydrotherapy tomorrow. Boys are working on finishing their homework, well ok DS1s screaming and screeching, snapping pencils and occasionally writing something. I am going to go pack PE kits while they do that.

Edited to add - Woohooooo just checked my list as soon as school stuff is ready I've finished pigpen's list :D toots I'm off to do that now, can I have a weekend star please :D
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Thanks Pigpen. so how on earth can I get rid off ALL of them and get them to stay away?

Took me 4 hours last time getting rid of all of them (or so I thought) how do you manage to do all of yours?

  • Hello all - just popping in to say Hi hellowave.gif- have given up on trying to catch up as it seems to be a choice of flying or reading for me - can't seem to do both lol.gif
Am just going to have a coffee1.gif
and then am up for another HHC 5.30-6pm - anyone like to join me??????

In my last one I didn't get as far as the Playroom but have
    -taken the washing off the line and put bits in TD that weren't quite done - will do HHI later and get them out of the way;
-sorted through freezer and taken some extras out to garage freezer as it's a bit empty at the mo'
-cooked Shepherds Pie for tea - simmering nicely on the hob - just got to peel spuds

Doesn't look like much but more than I would have done otherwise - thanks Froddy for the incentive to get off my b*m :D

Hope everyone is well today and have had a good weekend

The short answer.. you can't keep them away as long as there is a loppy child in the class they will come back. tell the other parents and the teacher they are going about most parents do try to keep them away so appreciate advance notice. I picked 2 huge things off tiddles while in school and gave them back.. the teacher was not impressed but there was a notice up about cleanliness the next day!! lol

I have a nitty gritty comb it is the best thing since anti-pill fleece.. strips eggs off fairly easily but it helps if the hair is wet and te eggs are waterlogged.. they are bigger so easier for the comb to grip.. also wet lice don't run! so you can grab them too. The louse has a 31 day life cycle so combing every day or every other day for a month seems to work.

I do my lot on a weekly basis and usually they have nothing.. they don't do contact sports either! but if they have oodles they are flea shampoo'd and either way they get combed daily until I have nothing coming off.

Funfairprincess - I am nosy - why does OH need a roadie?

Football was fantastic - a win for the lads at last and DS scored! Think it was 5-4....

but is was a bit breezy up there....

I used Hedrin then combed DD1's hair through with conditioner and a nit comb every day for a week. Then I bought 'quitnits' preventer and used that everyday she was at school and tied her hair back everyday too. Think you can use some sort of tea tree concoction instead of buying a preventer.

There is a particular nit comb that's supposed to be very good....someone here will advise no doubt. Think you can also get the comb free on prescription.

Wiped down the paintwork in the lounge and hall, cooked and eaten tea (salmon, pasta, red pesto and broccoli) and currently have a very large pan of celery soup bubbling away on the hob. Now to bath and hairwash DD2, DD1 can have a freshening up shower later on. She's had a really good sleep this afternoon so I'm sure she won't be in bed before 8pm tonight and she's feeling a bit better. She's not eaten all day but at least she's drinking. No school for us tomorrow anyway as its an inset day.

Welcome Feisty Fairy. Hope you enjoy your first week back here!:hello:

ETA: Crossed posts with Pigpen, knew someone would post the name of the nit comb!
