Lil me and Nicky :T great idea for a challenge to try to avoid spending money unnecessarily. I haven't gone out as I have to take extreme measures.

Got an extreme Home Bargains/poundland addiction.

Lil me, so sorry to hear about your friend, just a gentle reminder to get out there and live your life and find whatever happiness you can.

Pigpen glad DS1 and GF are feeling better, says it all really that the first FC had never done it before, the demands and expectations were totally unreasonable. So very pleased that they have someone who knows their stuff. I am in awe of GF for keeping going, very, very impressed.

BTW have a lovely evening out on the razzle, have fun. x

LL hope you are ok hun and not too zapped from the antibiotics.

Soappie :T you, woman, are dynamite, can you pass a little of your energy over. You're like the Ray Mears of the flylady world, maybe next week you'll rustle up an extention to your house :rotfl:.x

:hello::wave::hello::wave::hello: Hello to everyone out there flying or resting, have a lovely weekend.

Food scoofed by all. I'm all omega 3'd up for the week.

Toots of course you are my friend. Facebook is easy - you just register to create an account and then you add 'friends' who can look at what you are upto and you can look at what they are upto. You have to be registered to join a group (which is what the link is) hence why it did not work for you.

To iron or not to iron that is the question. Will probably determined as to whether WDYTYA is on catchup tv or just on the pc.

Triker. Thank you. I like the Ray Mears comparison :D.

Though I suspect it's awkward-cussedness parsimony rather than dynamism on my part. Why pay someone to do what I can do myself? That's why I do as much of my accounts as I can before handing it over to the accountant to do the final polishing. I groan and winge each year when it needs to be done but I still do it!

There are a couple of exceptions. I employ a gardener once a fortnight to keep things under control. But then I feel good about it because it's cash in hand and helps the old boy make his pension go further.

Another thing I don't do is car maintenance. Used to on my motorbike years ago but these modern engines have me baffled.

Neither do I do electrics. Electricity scares me! It may be to do with the fact that when I was very small (under 4 years old). My elder sister got me to put my finger in an empty light socket (and no, I don't know why it was empty!) and then turned the switch on. ZZZZzzzappppp! It's given me the heebie geegies ever since.

But, off to go fry some steak...

  • Hi everyone!
Pigpen - I'm so pleased that GF has a new FC, do Social Services realise that the old one was no good now then? It's so nice that your son is so involved, he must be a good lad. Did I miss something about your sister? Hope she is ok. How's Tabitha? The trip to build a bear sounds awesome! I would love to go there. Might have to borrow a child to go with :rotfl:
FFPrincess - love th photo of the babby, gorgeous! Who's is it?
Lil-me - I was so sorry to hear about your neighbour. As someone who has depression, I've been in that dark place many times. It feels like the only way to end the pain, the terrible pain. He did so well to keep going for 18 years, and I'm glad you have so many memories of him. You sound like a very understanding person. I'm doing much better at the mo. People don't always understand suicide, they think it's a selfish thing, and his wife will need lots of support, but I'm sure she will understand that he was in agony and couldn't carry on that way anymore. He is in a better place now. Thinking of you all.

Not done any flying today, was out enjoying the sunshine this morning and then sleeping this afternoon. Am too tired and have a headache so can't do much this evening, but hope to do some washing up later.

  • Thanks dusty - still feel apprehensive about it although i often feel I am missing out when I hear others talk of it - I think too its the fact that you have to use your real name - I think its the anonimity(sp!!!) of here that I feel safe with.

soappie I am a bit like you too - I hate having to pay people if I think I could do it myself - and I love electrics - should have learnt to be an electrician - I respect it but have very little fear of it! Nice sister you have!

dusty - could you do me a favour - as I still cant find my pattern for the shrug thing I am doing I will need to put it aside for now and get one with other jobs until it turns up - could you pick me another number please?

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

I'd love to - I can't remember where the numbers stop so I'll go 48 or if not 2, failing that 14

You don't have to use your real name - I know a flylady who doesn't but not me
