    Morning all.

Toots - I think you're right - it must be this rotten cold that's getting me so down. I'm STILL all bunged up this morning.

Sorry to have off loaded everyone, but thank you for being there to 'listen'. I've given myself a stern talking to.

The sun is trying to shine this morning so I may get to do all the outside windows. And perhaps earn a star!

    Morning lovelies!

Dusty :hello: Welcome back, glad you had a good time and that photo is fab, one for a frame I'd imagine x
Serena glad you enjoyed your day trip, I'd have loved the Cathedral x

pigpen re: cleaner: Does she not charge by the hour? On a general clean we do the bathroom/kitchen/master bed first then living room/hall stairs landing then kids rooms and then if there's anything someone wants done specifically we do that too - the oven and hob should be cleaned as part of the kitchen. Just tell her what rooms you want doing and they'll be done. and pleeeeeeeease don't clean up before she goes I would be horrified if someone had done that (and they have) that's what I'm there for, the amount of muck doesn't matter, in fact, the more muck the better as far as I'm concerned cause then you can see what I've done, I love a good clean-up :T

Taking DD1 to maccy dees for breakfast cause she was upset yesterday and it's my treat, she also had a job interview at Durham so she finds out next week, a few flylady vibes wouldn't go a miss, please :D

Not sure what I'm doing round here today the house is fine, not much washing so maybe just a mooch about, I'm gonna go and 'help' OH spray some stuff on his van later erm underseal? but at least it's warm round his, unlike mine - checked my eon account and apparently I've spent £434 on Gas and £312 on electric since the last bill and there's not another one till June.....and the house is still cold. *blows raspberry*

ETA: (((((((soappie)))))) Don't beat yourself up, firstly you're under the weather with that cold and secondly you've done an amazing amount of work all by yourself recently, and actually all the time, you're amazing.

Pigpen have fun at Build A Bear - hope none of them come out with the most hideous looking thing you can ever imagine, like littley did last week, it freaks me out :D

K, I have a council built brick out-house/come shed that's, apart from a couple of feet, next to the house, my plan is, and I've talked it over with OH cause he'll be doing the work, to turn it into a utility room - it's big enough to house the spare FF/WM/TD/ironing board/mops etc and still be left with room [STRIKE]for junk[/STRIKE] but that means emptying it  and it's overflowing..... So, I may do that today, it leaks so everything in there is ruined and will be dumped (nowt special) and then I can see what's what. We'll see.

Need another cuppa then will text DD1. Gonna have a look at the Easter Eggs in marksies whilst we're there- a bit expensive but it is GD's first one.

Good luck! That's basically what I've got - it was originally linked by a covered passageway (i.e. the flat roof extends all teh way to the house), and then doors were put on each end of the passageway to make it part of the house.

Give it a really good clean (mine was disgusting) and work out what order to do things in! It's worth having a separate electrical circuit for it, as you'll have a lot of stuff in there (and TDs are notorious for blowing fuses).

If you've got a concrete floor, then make sure you seal it. First time round I gave it a good clean, then painted the ceiling and walls (straight onto the brick) to make it lighter (and feel clean) and then painted the floor with floor paint as it stopped it being so dusty and made it easier to clean. I just used leftover paint for the walls...

Then I had the plumbing and electrics sorted out - all surface mounted on the brick to start with, and finally moved the boiler out there. It already had a sink.

Now I've opened it up by removing most of the wall that faces the house (I've kept the kitchen wall, as opening it up completely would a. make it too cold and b. mean I couldn't hide the mess!), insulated and lined the ceiling and walls, laid a new floor and fitted kitchen units for storage. I have the freezer, DW, WM, TD, SC, MW and sink out there, as well as storage for cleaning stuff, vases, my kitchen roll stockpile etc! There are lots of hooks so that all my scruffy coats, shopping bags, peg bag etc have places to hang.

It's also worth making sure you put in plenty of lighting (I got 3 sets of halogen spotlights from Homebase at £8 each) so you can see what you are doing.

Good luck - and let me know if you want me to post you the design I used, as I think I still have copies somewhere (I may even be able to give you materials/costs for some of it!)... It will revolutionise your life!
