Greenbee (are you regretting talking gas and electric to me yet) - upon closer inspection of my online bill there are two prices for my electricity and gas - primary and secondary. Don't have a clue about this??? Any ideas? xx
You're on a 'no standing charge' tariff, so rather than paying a standing charge and then one rate for the units you use, you pay for some at a higher rate, which basically covers what the standing charge would have been, and the rest at a cheaper rate.
Generally suppliers spread the higher rate units across the year so that you don't have one VERY expensive month and the rest of the year cheaper. The number of units and the difference in rater varies too. NPower have also been in trouble because their definition of a year is somewhat unusual too... If you're with them, go look at the elec & gas board for 'NPower Gas Sculpting' :rolleyes:0 -
