Trident update: I escalated my claim with paypal and received notice that I had been awarded a refund on 9/5/09 - which was pretty quick.
Today I have had an email from Mr Byard informing me his DVDs are "fully UK compatible and fully UK licensed" and that he is fully aware of this web forum where "customers are ill informed". Apparently his legal team is "on the case . . . so a few comments from ignorant people really are the least of his worries "!!!
Oh - and he has a database of "over 85,000 satisfied customers". . . . Yeah right!!
For anyone else considering purchasing DVDS - BE warned!0 -
I ordered series 4 of Grey's Anatomy in 17 February and have been chasing since. I get the unhelpful responses of saying to check with the Royal Mail despite already telling them there is nothing.
I have just lodged a complaint with BBC Watchdog so lets get everyone doing it and hopefully something will be done!aberdeenqueen wrote: »Interesting!
I ordered series 4 of Grey's Anatomy on 31st March - a month later it hadn't arrived. I was asked to check with my sorting office - no joy. So I emailed back to be told that the Post Office had returned the parcel because they had tried to deliver but there was no-one to sign for it. (Strange - there was no card left by postman. . .)
Today I have been told it will be "resent" when new stock is received.
I have asked twice whether the DVDs will play on a UK machine and the question has not been answered. After reading this page, I emailed straight back demanding a full refund or I would inform Paypal. Should I contact Paypal anyway? I read in another message that there is a 45 day limit?0 -
Why is almost every post on this thread from newbies?0

Why is almost every post on this thread from newbies?
Could be because people are browsing the site having had a bad experience from Trident, then see this thread and decide to add to the thread, signing up.
Not the best worded explanation, but it could be right.
Edit: sorry I didnt realise this was on page 2, sorry for bumping it up unecessarily. Thought i was still on page 1.0 -
i also purchased grey's anatomy in March - it never arrived and they were very clever and managed to fob me off until after the 45 day paypal limit to log a dispute. I have now contacted watchdog.....0

I have also just recieved duff copies from TRIDENT DVD...
The Lost boxset didn't even have the number of discs in them that they were supposed to. The discs didn't work in the DVD player, and through the whole process the people at the other end were rude and unhelpful.0 -
I can't understand why people don't use a reputable retailer such as Play.com?Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

I purchased from Trident DVD and the goods arrived from an Amazon Marketplace seller, the Trident DVD site looks like it's a proper website but in fact it just redirects during the checkout stage (easy to miss) to Amazon, the site takes a commisson from Amazon.
Amazon and Amazon Marketplace are not quite the same, I have bought items from Amazon with no problem, but Amazon Marketplace is a load of rubbish for DVDS, it's a lot of counterfeit and shoddy goods at slightly below the price you would expect for genuine goods.
Half the complaints I read are for people who suggest that they don't post anything out, the other half say that they are fake. Well my goods did arrive and of the three items I ordered 2 were imports and one was FAKE, they were shipped by Amazon Marketplace sellers so I complained to Amazon, in the end I had to file a chargeback and then I got my money back.
If you order 3 products they could come from 3 different places!
My best advice, just buy from Play.com or some other reputable seller, don't waste time with overseas registered half-baked sites!0 -
I bought some DVDs from Trident DVD and payed for them, however I did not recieve them.
I paid for items I never even recieved. When I emailed them as there is no contact telephone number, they said that, this does not normally happen and 99% of orders are delivered and I should check with my post office. When I did and there was nothing, I again emailed them, they replied saying that the they would check with their post office and it would take 3-5 days. This was in April and its now been almost 4 months and I havent heard anything.
I have emailed them several times even requesting a refund if they are not capable to send the items I have paid for, but they have not replied.
As far as im concerned, they are theives. Dont order anything from them.
If only I had done my research before hand.0
