well done sandra with ur fab day:T i'm a wee tad jealous:D
can i ask....how do u go about getting the clarins samples? what do u have to say?
(sorry if this sounds daft, its just i get a bit nervous asking for free stuff!)
tia
Don't be nervous - they are advertising Bigtime that you can get these samples, in fact we were invited today by a Clarins Lady, in JL in Bond Street to go to the counter and do this!
You go up and say something like this:
"Hi! I understand you are giving samples, and I'd love to try some please. Perhaps you'd be so kind as to advise me?"
Alternatively, you can say:
"Hi! I understand you are giving samples, and I always use your products", which I do, it's just I use the samples! I always use the red pots which are for the More Mature Skin.
I love the expensive brands, I've got wonderful taste, it's just I can't afford them! So if I'm running short of anything, I go to the counters in a big store, Dior, Chanel, La Prairie, Sisely, Clarins, Clinique etc and say "Hi, I'm so sorry to trouble you, but what could you recommend for the more mature skin please?"
They will give you about a 10 minute consultation, and I know all about sub cutaneous layers, and the epidermis, and I try to ask intelligent questions about the products, and then they will give you some samples in a bag. These bags look so impressive in my bedroom!
It helps to keep everything light hearted, and, as the SAs are usually about 25 and gorgeous, I listen to what they're advising and then say "And I expect if I use these products for a couple of days, I'll look as young and gorgeous as you!".They love that.
You'll always find Clarins and other companies in the larger Boots stores. HTH0 -
I put an order through at 21.40 on Wednesday 25th (including the No 7 GWP with a single item - the fairy trimmer!) & received my despatch email last night, just before midnight, showing all items despatched :T Hope this gives people hope!
Congrats to all the bargains obtained today, especially Jazzteddy! I never find anything like all you seasoned Bootsters seem to find! I'm obviously not looking hard enough or in the right places!
Again, to answer another post - I did brave a manned SA till with the Olay Definity GWP & purchased it with the Definity cleanser, no questions asked!! I was ready for the story of it being online & all my "friends" having already bought them, but it went through & so no embarassing scenes! I also got a reduced No 7 Glossy Locks for £2.**, so handed over £8.** & got the GWP, 2 products & a perkie. Went home happy!
Oh & I'm sure I'm getting different ACM vouchers this week than I did last week, at one point in the last couple of weeks, the only ACM voucher I got was points on a minimum spend (nothing on ANY products at all!) so I wouldn't rule out checking the machines regularly, before the next changeover day, cos you might miss out otherwise.

x,
Sorted now - Thanks to chazzy2008 x
Did chazzy2008 know of a local store. I am same area - been to Lynn, March, Downham & Ely today and still no joy with finding them - any pointers anyone as only want 1 for hubby as a little pressie. Managed to get the last 4 botanics sets in Lynn, (2 were well stuffed to the back of shelf so thanks!) reduced to £1.84 - just as well as none anywhere else. 2 for mothers day and hubby pinched 1 for himself! :rotfl:
Got the Olay GWP in Ely no problems with the facewash to disguise, also used the double vouchers on the new Extracts range x 2 , so paid approx 40p for 2 foam bath thingys for pressies. HTH0 -
Saw this on HUKD
The large cans of red bull priced at £1.75 or part of the meal deal: any sandwich, any drink and any desert (includes large bags of malteasers etc. under £1.35) for £2.99. Buy using a Boots clubcard and get the 6th free!0 -
In my local today, very briefly getting rushed through by the kids, on the clearance shelf there were tons of No7 P&P aftersun all reduced to £1, didn't get the chance to study them never mind pick them up to buy but they had no box and looked really watery like toner does. Will go back in myself tomorrow for a proper prowl, wonder if i'll get away with buying 5, though do i really need 5? Not with the summers we usually get lol:rotfl:
Yip, you could need all 5 for when you come to visit Liverpool in the Summer. You might just get to see some sun......note, might and not for certain:rotfl: :rotfl:I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

Sorry if this has been mentioned as I haven't got time to catch up with all the pages yet, but today went bootsing with BF and found 2 sets of gillette vouchers from his card, printed 3 each out and realised they were different barcodes:rolleyes: , so got a shaving foam for 97p, scanned at SS till and found both vouchers worked together so he got 300 pts. :j :j He got 2 more shaving gel @£1.29 each and used set of 2 vouchers at a time so boosted his card with another 600 pts:D
Tried to print out more but only got 1 each, HOWEVER found my card is giving a gillette voucher as well and it's with another another barcode   , so bought one more foam for 97p but got 450 pts back
Really hoped I could get online and post this at the time and let all you guys/girls knowas I think the voucher is finishing today? Anyway just in case tomorrow the voucher's still there, remember to try with your BF/DH's cards as well.
Also the palmolive voucher has two different barcodes too so most probably they'll work together as well0 -

I have now managed to get an Olay black bag GWP with Olay regenerist heating scrub thingie! :j
Yeah my beauty routine consists of soap, water and and the occasional bit of hand cream!but will now change courtesy of Mr B and you guys!
Anyhoo, after reading SS's post about Sanctuary mini set and GWP  in Kingston (my large local) I thought I would try that there too  but it came up as £6 ** for the mini travel set & £9.79! _pale_  I wasn't paying that so asked the SA to void the transaction.
Did I pick up the wrong Sanctary set or GWP ?
Does anyone have a link to pic please?
OR have they cottoned on and fixed the glitch?
I hope not! I would like to have some nice bargainous lotions and potions to admire and use too!
(sorry about all the smilies - I love em! :happyhear !)
Cheers and Thanks
or TIA!0 -
It takes a lot of careful planning to get to London at the weekends nowadays, due to Underground and rail lines being closed for "essential works" - I've only ever seen several workmen in orange suits, standing around, but I mustn't be cynical!
Arrived at Liverpool Street at 9.30 then went to Subway for our 99p breakfast, and then to Boots, naturally. I'm so glad we got the Olay GWPs yesterday at Kingston, as I haven't seen them elsewhere today, and OP said they were from last year.
We got a couple more Sanctuary sets, and this time the Manager strolled over to the SS tills, and he sorted everything out! Then I spotted the Gillette at 27p or something ridiculous like that, and used my last 150 points voucher and have told DH he is not to even consider ever growing a beard!
We then went to Bond Street and couldn't see anything to get excited about, or any Perkies - in fact it was empty. I used my £5 off £25 spend coupon on one third reduced Braun cartridges, cos the TENS machine was £8 more in the store than online! I'll wait till they've got an offer on for that.
We visited House of F, Debs and JL and stocked up on lots of Clarins, who are currently doing a promotion of a free consultation and 3 or 4 products, in all stores and decided we had enough to carry around.
We then reached the Embankment, and strolled down the Strand, had a 2 for 1 GBK in Covent Garden, got a meal deal in Boots for the journey home, no bargains there, then waited till 2 for our free Starbucks coffee!
Carousel was brilliant, and Lesley Garrett was fantastic - a superb show (OAP rates again), and a real contrast to Thriller last week!
I'm really impressed with the Stay Perfect I got yesterday with a Perkie - it certainly gets my vote. I have oodles of Perkies but I can't see anything else I want/need, so I hope Mr B excites us with some new and tempting offers before they expire.
Not Bootsing again till Thursday, when we're doing Canary Wharf, Galleons Reach and then Beckton Clearance - Agent Scarlett will report back!
xx
PS - Hope your Dad is OK Mimi, you're always in my thoughts and prayers, and he is so lucky to have such a kind, considerate and caring son like you.0 -
Does anyone know if any stores in West Yorkshire have the OLAY GWP? Also, anyone seen anything spesh in the BIRSTALL one? I'm thinking of maybe going there next week, but don't really wanna go if I won't get any bargains. Thanks all.
PS. Searched high and low for the reduced Gilette things or the Dunhill London EDT, and didn't locate a single one. Oh well.
mimi I got the Olay Definity GWP with the Definity cleanser for £5.** in Albion Street today no probs.
Also got an EXTRACTS Body Wash for £2.60 & used both 150 pointers, again no probs (at Crown Point).
Used Perkies on: 3 x No7 Nail Buffer sets (old packaging) FREE & 2 x No7 Eyeshadow Brushes, 60p to pay on each.
Then tootled off to Leeds Station & picked up 4 x reduced triple sandwich packs @ 75p each, paid with LVs.
Glad Daddy is on the mend now

I picked up a £2.20 mini Sanctuary Body Souffle, and the £9.79 set, and I couldn't find the bar code, so the SA scanned it - I only paid £2.20 - twice, and so did Dee. I also did that today at Liverpool Street.
The Olay GWP (black with red stencilly-ish roses) scanned at £0.00, so if yours was scanning at a price - they must have fixed the glitch. Sorry.0
